I am happy that he was arrested too. :thumbs up

But the car was an Yellow Board vehicle. Maybe they were friends of that driver..hmmmm...

I was shocked to to see the video of no one helping the injured family on the road. .

IIRC, the 2 wheeler rider should be held equally responsible for the accident since he took his family into a tunnel where 2 wheelers are banned.

Yes he is, but that doesn't mean that injured should be left on the road to die. Or are we all so much of ideal law abiding citizens that we can judge his crime and leave his family to die on the road?

If Friends, then they surely deserve to be arrested. What's the point of having such friends ?

The onus lies on the passenger also, whether he/she wants to reach the destination alive or dead.
I once had been in an office cab when I sensed the driver drunk. I immediately stopped him on the pretext of getting down for a smoke.
Called up company transport helpline and reported the matter.
A spare cab was sent, 50 mins later. And I reached office 1.5 hrs late.

Yes, he was guilty. And he paid the price for it.
What is painful here is the apathy of fellow motorists to help a fellow motorist.

+100 :thumbs up

^^^^^^^^

Perhaps I was too terse in my post. I too think that the passers-by were inhuman by not helping out the injured.

I just wanted to add some additional facts that are relevant to the case. In any developed nation, the rider / husband would be facing manslaughter charges. But in India, I would be very surprised if any case was filed at all on him.

Any recommendations? I've been thinking of getting one. Are these available online?

I remember seeing one on transcend website . Do check it out, could be a cheaper alternative to go pro and may come with a warranty .

A couple of kids, at the cusp of youth, lose it all to a silly bike run, an epic pity indeed.
Sometimes I feel that such kids who consider themselves 'indestructible' should be regularly shown clips of horrific consequences of such bravado.

Surprised by this statement, "Laxman was supposed to get married next year". He will be only 20 next year ,how can he marry ? Nobody cares for the law of the land . He may be also riding, from a very young age. When will we learn?

Hi All, just saw a silver SX4 with a badly damaged boot, on the other side of Old Nizamuddin Bridge, with a LTD and TBHP sticker on it. Sincere apologies for not stopping, but I was travelling in a UPRTC-Noida Route bus and the next stop was at akshardham temple :( Hope all are all right, unknown bhpian if we can help let us know

@mods if this is not the appropriate forum, please to move the post.

Here is a real time example of how dangerous it is to change the lane when you are blinded by the vehicle in front of you, a facebook video.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=353457658162032

Spotted this at the after-sales.

Massive frontal hit, driver had minimal injuries, co-passenger was no belted and hence some head injuries, there was a kid at the rear with very minimal injuries. The driver fell asleep on the highway and took a tree at high speeds. There has been some other sideways rear impact as well.

About the car, the engine is damaged, gearbox is broken, but still there is no cabin intrusion. All the doors were opening and closing normally as if nothing had happened. Another real life example where a Fiat has saved lives. :thumbs up

Good to hear that passengers came out with minor injuries. That looks like a high impact accident and the car has taken the hit well.

But, I just don't understand why people hesitate to stop the car and take a quick nap?! instead, they are fine with risking their life and others'. Your average speed coming down from your normal speed itself is an indication that you are not alert enough and better to take a quick nap or refresh yourself.

And another instance of seat belt not being used:Frustrati

Managed to grab a few images of Wagon R and Swift Dzire while I was waiting for TD Ciaz to arrive at Amar Motors, Gorwa, Vadodara. Wagon R in particular took the crash well I think. Swift Dzire was rear ended at a high speed by another heavy vehicle, mostly a truck.

Thats too early to say without knowing what it hit or the speed. If it was a 2-wheeler or even another small car, then the damage is pretty much in-line with the expectations out of a Maruti small car.

Its highway crash, both the Dzire and Wagon R. Wagon R hit a pick up from behind when the pick up decided to enter into some village or farm. Thats what I am told.
For Dzire, I am told that Dzire could brake on time as a biker decided to cross road, but a truck behind it could not as the speed was pretty good. Truck did slow down, but hit Dzire. Whether it was a smaller truck like 407 or a larger 31 or something ton truck nobody was sure.
Did not post the details as the security guard was against me taking images inside dealer premises and the Sales person who gave me test drive of Ciaz was also not amicable as far as photos were concerned.

My sister had crashed our Wagon R pretty bad and I can testify for its integrity. Sure, you cannot compare it with Punto, but its no longer just a tin can. The panels are light, but the chassis does its job. My sister, in order to save some newspaper delivery guy ( who took a sudden turn ) hit a road divider at more than 60, the car hit road divider first, then flipped over and landed on left side and got dragged quite a few meters. My sister emerged scratchless from the accident. The place she was visiting : Art of Living classes in early morning. She was going to pick up her friend who is daughter of Police Inspector. Nobody except the car was hurt and some damage to road divider. The Police Inspector helped us get some documents required for Insurance that body was hurt, etc. within one day. Total loss to us Rs. 31,000/- and total repair cost = Rs. 1.31 lakh. Insurance paid 1.0 lakh Rupees. As the car had a crash and a reasonably big one at that + unstable fuel price prompted me to keep the car. Its still with me and after repairs runs fine.
