Always better to invest in riding jacket then feel sorry at later stage.

Places in bangalore to check out.
1. Lets Gear Up, HSR Layout
2. Biking Spirit, Church Street
3. Xtorque, Old Airport Road.
4. Helmet Paradise, JC Road.

Better avoid any other place for riding gears in bangalore.
Where is Xtorque located in Old Airport Road? The google maps says behind Arena mall on outer ring road, but that is not in old airport road.

I was there a little over a month back. It is around where Google Maps says it is (not in Arena Mall as per the map, but the road running behind it).

Re: The Riding Gear thread

How good are Scorpion brand gloves?

I saw the Scorpion ExoWear SG Gloves at sportbiketrackgear for 47$, including shipping in US. I also saw Fieldsheer Apex 2.0 for about same price at Revzilla.

I am looking to replace my aging AXO gauntlets, and want to know which among these is a good buy. If not this, any other options under 50$? (size XL).

EDIT: The gloves will be used 98% for city rides (Silkboard to ITPL), at speeds between 40 to 80 kmph.

Both are equally good. I had the Revive gloves for over 2 years and it served me well. Only grouse is that the perforated leather tends to tear off on the finger area due to wear and tear.

The Pegasus is a full leather glove and is not as ventilated as the Revive. The revive offers excellent ventilation thanks to the vents on the fingers.

You might consider using the Spartan Phaeton (link) instead of the Pegasus. I would recommend the Pegasus for highway rides though.

If you are going to have one pair for the city and another for the highway then keep the Phaeton for the city. Else just get the Pegasus for the city and highway use. It won't make your palms noticeably sweaty and uncomfortable. I am only comparing these gloves between each other, other than that these choices are excellent.

Spartan gloves have better quality stitching than the DSG gloves, IMHO.

Yes, Spartan has a women's jacket.

You could look at A* which is available with Performance Racing Store (PRS Mumbai). Orion Yamaha might have stock since they are resellers for PRS and Bachoo motors.

If you are heading to Shantivana this weekend, come over to my place. My wife's jacket is unused. She has never worn it since she found it heavy. I don't remember the brand name right now. I had bought it in Switzerland.

As of now Spartan and Rjays both offer offers jackets for women. Though the latter might be subject to availability, you can call Bachoo Motors (Zulfi) or shoot a mail to Spartan regarding the current status of their inventory.

But I'd personally suggest you the Spartan, their design is really fabulous and appeals to the dames.

Cheers!

Okay will come over and take look into it. Was there last week but did not see your car, so thought you were out for diwali holidays.

Re: The Riding Gear thread

I was looking for a riding jacket, it seems that all companies have jacked up the prices.

I wanted the Spartan Helios as it looked like a VFM deal, however the price is 6799 + 350 shipping = 7100

Next in line is DSG Nero @6499

Does the Helios look like a good deal now, or is there anything else better at the same price range.

DSGs value to cost proposition has been trending down slowly. Helios and Rjays have refreshed their products and the latter has updated their products with new designs. Helios is a very good jacket coupled with 500 more you get kind of an all weather jacket.

Cheers!
