Did you try Kranos from Aspida? Actually very close cousin of MT at a pricing of <4K DOT & ECE certified.

Not that MT is bad but you could consider upgrading to a proper carbon-fiber one as you get more serious about riding.

I tried Kratos brand - not sure your had a typo. It was priced 50% lesser than MT, but I think either I didn't have the right size or it wasn't as comfy as the MT Blade I tried and hence wasn't impressed. I'd give it a bit more serious thought next time am there.

Well, Moto 101 stores across India are dealers for Spartan. So, not surprising that both exhibited Aspida brand.

Kranos was the helmet brand Spartan used to sell earlier, check helmet thread for old posts. Most of Spartan dealers are just clearing Kranos stock now.

Looks like SPG website is no longer displaying Kranos but realized the low price MT ones very closely resemble KRANOS. (refer example)

Kranos is now showcased in Amazon (sample link). Isn't it looking ditto same?

Leather racing suit Maintenance to last long!

I use a DSG leather racing suit and have been concerned on keeping the leather soft and in top condition to last long so that the leather does not fail in case of a mishap.

Was browsing through a lot of articles but finally could relate myself closer to the review done by Revzilla.

I have ordered Mr Leather (Brand - Formula 1) which is basically a Cleaner and conditioner which should retain the properties of the leather as I am expecting.



Please share your experiences guys.

You should first remove the dust from you jacket / riding suit using a dry sponge and then you can use the products which will clean and condition it.
Pure leather suit will generally not Fail any time soon but it does get cracks and looses it's suppleness over time due to UV rays heat and dust,if the correct leather care products are not used, I strongly suggest that use separate cleaner and conditioners (Dainese has them at their store in chennai and Bangalore for 2500/- and you can mail order it) there are some animal oils also which are available on eBay for leather care (mink oil etc) to enrich the leather, a word of caution: do not use petroleum oils on leathers , it will ruin it)

I was using this Mr.Leather earlier on my Spartan Ares gloves. It used to restore the softness of the glove whenever the gloves were hard after drying post a ride in rain. One arguably negative thing about Mr. Leather is that it leaves an oily residue.

I read somewhere recently about how Mink oil is not good for leather (leather care is a controversial topic). I stopped using Mr. Leather after that. I plan to buy leather cleaner and conditioner sold by some riding gear manufacturers. The usage of these may not be needed more than twice a year barring the times when the leather gets drenched.

Other than that, it's better to buy some alcohol free baby wipes and wipe them after every couple of rides or whenever the leather is dirty.

My TBG sport gloves were a bit dusty due to the commutes through polluted city streets. I used a Himalaya baby wipe (claims to be alcohol free, but Phenoxyethanol is mentioned as one of the ingredients ) to clean both the gloves. The gloves became very clean, looked as good as new; They started looking rich and the leather felt very soft and supple. The wipes do not leave any oily residue either.

This is what I intend to follow in the future,
- Use baby wipes after every few rides in case of jackets/pants and after 5-7 rides in case of gloves (One downside - your leathers start smelling like a baby )
- Use specialist conditioner and cleaner every 6 months (I don't use leathers other than gloves frequently) or whenever the leathers are exposed to rain.

I'm thinking about buying a pair of full gauntlet gloves but confused about DSG Primal and Cramster TRG2. Can anybody give me a comparison between the them? Please help me choose between the two. Long term review will be much appreciated.

Its 2017 and yet we get a DSG vs Cramster question! This topic used to be debated endlessly over on the Xbhp riding gear thread back in the day. Ive had an excellent experience with the TRG2 and used it for around (if not more that) 4 years. Its been through hell and high water and survived. My more expensive TBG gloves in comparison lasted less than 2 years with much less biking.

I've heard that Cramster's current quality levels arent exactly the same as what they used to be, cant verify or deny it. I used to like DSG's full gauntlet gloves but never found one that fit me perfectly. Ultimately pick whichever one fits you best irrespective of the brand.

I got myself a pair of TRG2. Most of my biker buddies suggested me to go for it. And also like you I didn't find any DSG pair that fits me. The pairs I found were either too large for me or to cramped. I also considered the price. Its almost 500 bucks less than the DSG. When you're on a tight budget, 500 bucks is a lot. Let's see how it performs. The gloves are in its break-in period. So hopefully it'll last at least 3-4 years without any crash. At first I also considered SOLACE. But I haven't seen much of them being used so threw it out of the equation.

My TRG 2 is nearing a year of extensive use. It seems to be holding up well, so no complaints. The Cramster half cuff glove I had earlier lasted three years through rain and shine before it tore a bit at the palm. I still maintain that Cramster remains good value for money.

I had been using the Cramster TRG2 for the past three years. They're brilliant. Quality is great, they're comfortable and most importantly they're priced very well.

I recently lost one glove from the pair somehow and was looking for a replacement. Heard good reviews about Aspida gloves so gave them a shot. I bought the Pegasus short cuff gloves since the dealer in Gurgaon didn't have the size L for full gauntlet ones. And I've to say I am repenting buying them now. Only after a week of usage, the stitching has come off. I told the dealer about it, and he suggested I send them to the factory for "repairs", which will take about 2 weeks, or get it stitched from a cobbler.

On top of that, I find Aspida to be a little down on quality as compared to Cramster. The only thing I like about them is the comfort/fit. Thinking to buy a pair of TRG2 again in the next couple of months.

Hi, even i have been using the TRG2 since the last couple of years. The first pair lasted close to 3 years, but the second pair didn't even last an year.

I wanted to invest in a good pair of full gauntlet gloves, therefore after a lot of discussion, i went ahead for the TBG sport gloves. Its been close to an year and they are still like new. Extremely good quality gloves but a tad expensive. I paid close to 5k if i remember correctly.

Do give them a shot and you wont regret them, and the best part is that they come with knox armour as well.
