Re: Superbike crashes in India

Saw this video from BLR police.
Was the bike really doing 300 kmph on a normal road with potholes ?
Also at the points where bike passes other bike, speedo shows 100+ which doesnt look plausible.

Apparently he tried to avoid a cow on the road, and ran into a tree.

Re: Superbike crashes in India

Lots of news in the media and on YouTube of some famous YouTuber meeting with an accident on his H2 in Nepal. The accident resulted in the death of a 79 year old man. Checked out a few videos and almost everyone (including his family) was praying for the youtuber who seems to be in a critical condition. Family has been requesting for prayers for now and probably support at a later stage. I am sure the support would be to sign some online petition to not have any charges or arrests and to allow him to return to India.

My prayers are for the family of the person who passed away for no fault of his. If the rider (who probably was wearing a riding gear) is in critical condition , i can't imagine the state of the 79 years old person who died.

This is the state of social media today - there are videos of the rider doing insane speeds on public roads. But when the same speed is done by people with less powerful bikes, they are termed as "chapri riders". Sad state of world we live in.

Sad, really sad

Are full details known of the accident to categorically state the 79 year old passed away for no fault of his.

Maybe the uTuber is known to ride recklessly, but perhaps not this time. It could be like the boy who cried wolf. Not supporting or condemning either without knowing the full facts about this particular sad incident. I don’t know anything about this uTuber or the accident.

Are we talking of the same vlogger? As far as I know, Jatt is not a reckless rider and does not indulge in over speeding on highways, at least the videos he posts. He made a niche more on traveling and exploring different parts of the country.

With regards to the crash, from 2nd hand information, he was riding on a highway, and the older gentleman jaywalked right in front of his bike. He did not have a chance to avoid the jaywalker and hit right into him.

Pics of the bike show significant front end damage.

The 79 year old died of head injuries after getting hit by the biker.

Unless more information is ascertained, let's not get caught up and start the blame game.

Rider was in full gear.

Re: Superbike crashes in India

Old incident in Amritsar. The guy giving commentary changes his version of speed from 150 to 175 in seconds, when someone is asking him. That car was at fault surely but the biker more going over the legal speeds thinking as if he riding on Autobahn

Re: Superbike crashes in India

It's been a while since I posted on the thread, in-fact after Samir passed away (he was a dear friend and a mentor to me). I had given up biking altogether (this was the second time I did it). Over the years have seen countless messages and accidents keep coming up on biking groups.

Unfortunately things are NOT improving when it comes to riding culture in India, this is clearly evidenced by major crashes happening in almost all corners of India every Sunday when bikers usually take out the motorcycles. I have since then gone back to motorcycling, in a big way. I realised I cannot stay away, so goal remains the same. To ride as long as possible, all kinds of motorcycles in all environments and to enjoy the joy of motorcycling throughout my life. Being a father this has been incredibly hard and also reflects in the very low yearly milage my motorcycles see (<1000). Will continue to update this thread and try promoting safe riding as much as possible.

The impact was so strong that the motorcycle caught fire

A recent incident was really heartbreaking where there was a accident between a Panigale V4 & Activa. I've experienced this so many times while riding myself, when I see an activa or some other cyclist on the side of the road. Obviously you would expect them to wait/look before crossing over but the next thing you know they are in the middle of the road and not even looking towards you. The deceased ex owner's instagram was shared which made it obvious that he recently acquired and was obsessed with his motorcycle (just like many of us here) and has left behind a family that will really miss him.
