Your Fiat looks ravishing. Is the white strip on the sides original or a period touch. Paint finish looks great though.

What is the deal about the 61 Austin Super Sport. What chassis and engine combo is this creation using. The fron suspension looks quiet modern.

The 38 Adler is actually the Adler Trumpf Junior. Used to have a similar car in Hyd. A technical marvel with front wheel drive and independant suspension. They need to have the hub caps chromed though and paint the headlamp housings and mounts.

Did you by any chance see what kind of fan belt the Adler was using.As the belt is driven off a pulley between the engine and gearbox the belt has to be a type that can be opened up, threaded around the pulley and fastned again.

The Ghosh cars looked great but as you said he needs to cut down on his club badge displays on all his cars.

Very unusual bumpes on the Auburn. Original ?

The 38 SS Jaguar 1.5 actually looks like a 2.5 Tourer. Is the engine a four or six cylinder ? The 1.5 four only came as a Drophead Coupe and the four seat tourers were either 3.5 of 2.5 sixes.

On the whole a marvelous display.

Somewhere I read that this Auburn was in a bad shape and brought back to life. Perhaps that explains the created bumpers. They are surely not original.
BTW, you mentioned that you had an Adler in Hyderabad.
I have an Adler story. My friend went to Ahmedabad to buy me a car. He could not get it, but bought himself another car, and came driving back. On the way he stopped at Navsari and bought an Adler Trumph for me. While bringing on a truck, it collapsed in the centre, broke into 2 parts, being front wheel drive it did not have the prop shaft for support. When it came here we were looking for another Adler for reference but could not find one around Mumbai.
One fine day someone from Hyderabad walked by and offered an Adler Trumpf Jr fixed roof with split rear windows like the first gen beetles. So we went to buy this blue car off Hyderabad. As it was bought and pulled out of a godown, another person passing said that he has a better car and cabriolet type. So we bought this brown/black car. Later I also got an open tourer.
BTW, these Adler Trumph Jr. in India are most common as cabriolets, the Bangalore, Kolkotta and Hegde car's are of this type. Tourer's may be there, but fixed roof bodywork I have not seen in India.
What was the colour of your Adler? Any pix?

So How many Adlers did you end up with.

The car I had was a four door cabriolet. We bought it from a milkman in whose compound it was lying buried upto its doors in muck.

It was all there and over a period of around one year was completely restored. The body was painted light cream and the mudguards we done in dark cream giving a neat look.

The problem with it was that it never drove well. The engine was rebored and re done but somehow it was very underpowered. Could never understand this.

At that time we knew of two more Trumpf Cabriolets in Hyd. One was in a garage in the old city in maroon / balck colours and the other had just been brought out of extended storage in a chicken shed where it had been walled up in the early fifties along with a 39 Buick Century and a Model A Ford.

There was also a Trumpf Senior sedan in Hyd. Never got to see a tourer / convertible in the flesh.

On the whole these were quanit little cars but not very desireable in those days.

Where in Hyd did you find the blue sedan and the cabriolet you mentioned ?

A family friend had a Adler sedan for years. It still remains in Hyderabad, but now in a sorry state.

That is the one I was talking about. Its a Trumpf Senior and used to be with a family in Ameerpet/ Begumpet area in a walled compound you had to enter through an arched gateway.

Sorry to hear that it has fallen on hard time.

If i remember correctly there were two other interesting cars in there too.

This is an Italian (as in not made in India) Fiat Karlos. Its a station wagon. Don't know the model. Sorry I have limited knowledge of Fiats. Will get hold of a picture and post soon

I do not know exactly from where the cars came, as these were purchased for me. I never met the owners.

Does anyone know of another Trumpf Junior Sport like the Kadams' car? Incidentally I had dirtied my hands on that particular car, and couldn't believe it was front wheel driven, gear box mounted ahead of the engine. Very pretty car in white, I don't like the current scheme at all.

Here are a few Trumpf Juniors featured elsewhere on the forum

This red example is in Calcutta.

This car was earlier in a collection in Pune, now in Bangalore I think.

This Trumpf Junior Sport is a real rarity, very good looking to me. The car used to belong to Nosh Nagarwalla in Pune, and was restored from junk. It resides in Bombay with a collector, who has now given it a rather unattractive paint scheme.

Around 1959 in Lucknow, I was riding in an Adler Trumpf Junior with my cousin when the engine seized. The car was written off I think. It belonged to a relative from Allahabad. It was cream and red.

This picture I came across in an international classic car book.

This picture is courtesy xoticars.

Both appear to be Trumpf Juniors.

The picture of the JP/ Ujjain car was the inspiration for the colour scheme on my adler.

We didn't use the colours on the top half though and stuck to a two tone look.

Back on the forum after a year on board . Came back to several projects left in limbo since my departure . About the pojects in later writeups .

Photograph of an Adler offered for sale at Lucknow last year . The engine does not have a head and as per information available to me it's origins lie in Bihar , it is still available but at an idiotic price.
