What are the museums of old cars in this region?
Where can we see a rally or a gathering of old cars?
Where can we meet collectors?

New Delhi

Probono Publico (hope I got that name right) a museum by Diljeet Titus

There are many car collectors but not sure how to access them.

Bikaner

No car museum but in one of the ornate havelis (a hotel) there's a lovely 29 Buick tourer and behind the Junagarh Fort a 30's Chevy (also in a hotel compound)

Jodhpur

Visit the Umaid Bhavan palace and request the staff to allow you to see the Maharajah's cars. A lovely collection

Udaipur

As a part of the City Palace tickets you can buy the car museum ticket. The museum is located at a distance from the palace. Lovely cars again

Jaipur

Well known jewellers by the name of Kasliwal have a nice collection of cars.

What you could really plan on though is the Cartier Travel in Style Concours being held in Bombay October 29, Nov 1-2.

65 of the finest cars in India will be displayed. See if you can wangle out a pass in France from your local Cartier dealer and plan on visiting Bombay at the time. You will not only get to see India's finest but meet most of the collectors, all in one place!!

Just for your information the larger collections on display in museums and worth the visit are the Bhogilal collection in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and the Gondal collection in Gondal Gujarat

In Jaipur like mentioned by DKG, is my relative Mr.Sudhir.Kasliwal. on M.I. road. (Gem Palace). He has some lovely cars and would not mind you having a look at them.
There is also Mr.V.Singh who has some lovely cars. I do not have his address or number with me but will try and get it from his nephew. The other thing you could do is ask my Uncle and he would help you see cars in Jaipur.

Dont forget to visit the Ajit Bhavan palace and hotel while in Jodhpur they have a good collection too. And for a large price they will pick you up in a Buick or MG and drop you for dinner to the Umaid Bhavan palace.
