Thank you for all the effort and research you have invested in pulling together this thread which is like a bible for the pre-war Morris Minor in India. Beautifully stitched together. Loved reading the whole lot especially those old news clips.
Found this picture of WBB 1369, probably from 2013 2014

27. 1933 SV Minor 2-seater (SV30663)
This Morris Minor was once in India, now in Karachi, Pakistan.

Thank you for this detailed and passionate account on what is obviously a humble little car that's close to your heart. It is flag bearers like you that influence and elevate an otherwise nondescript little car :)

Isn't it amazing how much of research and archive material is now available freely to all? Its so much easier for a novice to get into the circle now :D

Absolutely, years back when I bought my car and searched on the forum, I couldn't find any material barring a mention or two here and there.
Another picture of RJF 321, when it was in Jaipur.
Also adding these two pictures of my Minor with the previous owner here as well.

Received another picture of RJF 321 from the former owner's son.

Another picture of 1933 Saloon, USG 98, at the Statesman rally, New Delhi.

a Minor that too under piles of junk, no body, but the chassis, engine and bits and pieces.
Subsequently, I was told that it was sold to someone in M.P, I hope it re-surfaces again. Attachment 1862763 Attachment 1862764 Attachment 1862765 |
This car in all probability is this one, same as the attached pic which Kartikeya L has put up elsewhere. It was junked in Chor Bazar. This car belonged to Dinesh of Laloo Magneto Works Opera House who lived in near Dadar station. Sadly when he expired the car rotted away, and his Magnetto Works shut down. He was a very jovial fellow, really a nice gentleman. I don't remember his surname. Thereafter the only person to repair Magnetos successfully was Mr. Ashar. Now they are being done in Pune.
I myself have seen the Morris in Chor Bazar in this condition, it was kept on a handcart for a few days. It was really in a bad shape.
There was one more hard top Morris Minor in Deolali, in the compound of a Sanatorium. Unfortunately my friend could not get it for me.

That car was a tourer, this IMHO looks like a 1934 Austin Ruby

Another view of the former Jodhpur Minor

This 1934 Morris Minor 5cwt van was in service of the All India radio, Calcutta, 1939.

I believe the car on the left could be a little seen Humber. Though the bumpers look different to the front view.

The car on the left is actually a humble little Hindustan 10 - and naturally it excites me more than a Humber:D
