hey guys, This is CD
I have been offered this 1971 Ford Capri RHD, mk-1, 1.6L australian make in running condition
The car is in good condition with all the relevant papers
Could someone advise what could be a good price to go for it
also, It is currently registered in some different state
Is it easy to get it re - registered in my own state or are there any different rules / regulations relating to old classic / antique cars
Deeply appreciate early suggestions
Thanks
Attaching a few pics of the vehicle (not the one that i am buying, but random pics off the net)
I am not sure anyone can advise you without you posting photos of the actual car, there are no benchmarks in india as far as such cars go. So please try to post pictures of the actual car or else you can always go to the vintage and valuation car thread where many enthusiasts will logically try to arrive at a price for you.
yeah, i understand the situation
the problem is that the i dont have the sellers permission to use the pics
thanks anyways, will check out this thread and see if i can get some help
i know a ford capri on sale you may contact the owner directly 9810156999
hey raizada
thanks for the info
will get in touch with this guy
Should be a nice car to get you started in the old car business....a bit underpowered though but the looks are neat.
There were a few fro sale in Hyderabad too looooog ago.
As requested please do put up pics of this car you are looking at
@ wasif
do you know of some sources where i could try looking for this car
this guy who i am talking to is asking for way too much, dont think its worth
As per my knowledge this car is not exactly a known collectible
appreciate if you could advise if you know any cars like these for sale
thanks

I have been out of India for way too long to be of any help in finding a car. One of our members SB Jatti in Delhi just finished restoring one of these so maybe you can speak to him on this.
The Capri though not one of the top ten collectable cars has off late caught on as quiet a collectable on the international scene.
It is a pretty neat looking car to start with and its being a two door coupe makes it somewhat desirable. The bigger engined ones are more popular specially the V6 and the RS versions.
try to find a 2.0 and anything above as the 1.6 is rather sluggish.
If you want it fo fun you could even swap the engine out for a larger Diesel and have some fun with it.
All the best in finding one!
@wasif
Hey, thanks, will try and ask for Mr Jatti's help
I agree, the capri is a neat looking car, but hardly any V6s around
Most of them you get here in india are 1.6L and thats like a sheep in a wolves body
do you have any idea what the going rate is for the capri overseas

Hi
Thankx for uploading a pic at such short notice. Now we need to clarify 2 things before suggesting a price. Is it that you really want this car and or is it just for the sake of owning an old car ? If you ask me i cannot say what a good price of a car is without actually seing the car infront of me. But on the other side there are people selling fiats for 3.5 lacs. My opinion would be that you decide what you want first and then maybve we can help you.
@indrojitsircar
i know its difficult to suggest a price for any car without actually checking it out, with or without a pic
I just wanted to get a feel of the market, see if any vehicle like this has exchanged hands recently and understand the pricepoint. There are no benchmarks for the prices of these cars and not many available, the prices totally depends on the sellers and buyers psyche
It is actually difficult to assess whether the seller has quoted a ridiculous price or is it OK
Now, the reason I want to buy this vehicle...As ridiculous as it may sound, I actually want to buy it for my daily personal use. My daily personal use includes only 28 kms per day i.e going from house to work and back through clear (not too much traffic) roads
I drive a Honda Cr-v and a honda City (arrow) just now and am bugged with these vehicles, I can always keep one spare vehicle at work so as to use it during the day for outside work
any suggestions guys
