1954 Dodge, Plymouth and Desoto

I recently acquired a 1954 Dodge from Mysore, she is currently undergoing restoration in Jaipur. It should be ready by April - May. Hoping to add to the collection from here on.

This Dodge was last lying in Bangalore, it was offered to us but as we bought something else we let it go. But she was a nice car and very restorable. The guy who bought it and passed it on to you is quite knowledgable and should be able to do a good job. The cars in the background, the Mustang Convertible, the Bentley have all reached the same place. But I do not think that all have the same owner. In Jaipur there are now quite a few collectors and many cars from all over India have gone there, including cars from Mumbai.
This Dodge is a very practical car and should give a lot of pleasure when completed.
All the best!
Harit

Congrats Amal on your new acquisition. The car is very original-is it a Kingsway Convertible ?Looks like a Left Hand Drive. They used to have the Caution LHD on these cars imported from the US.We would also like to see the dash pictures, rear view and the post restoration ones.

Welcome to the forum and Congrats AmalTanna. Thats a great buy. As Harit pointed out its a great and practical car. I believe your car should have an electric hood? That Mustang in the background is delicious so is the Bentley.

While you are at it, please put up a proper introduction of yourself to help us know you better. Please also take time to go through the board rules:

Team-BHP - Announcements in Forum : Announcements

Kindly let us know what other cars you have. If you could also post pics that would be fantastic.

Enjoy your stay here.

Hi SuperSelect,
Thank you! I will keep the pictures coming on the restoration in progress.

Thanks Benson!
The Red car is a Mustang, and shes a beauty.

Hi Harit,
Thanks!
I hope i can enjoy the car once the works complete, the car is getting restored in Jaipur my Mr.Jhagid,(United Cars), he's restored some beauties. The Bentley in the background is the same one which was at the Cartier event held in Mumbai recently.

Thanks V-16!

Yes, the car does have an electric hood.
The cars at the workshop are mindblowing, the Bentley is the same one which was at the Cartier Concours.

I'll work on the introduction as well, just getting used to the forum.
Thanks & Regards.

Hi Amal,
I just bought a similar car in Mumbai, although she's in much worse shape than your's. The logos and hood monogram are missing, so is the motor for the power roof. Would appreciate if you can share any information about sourcing parts. Also is this model called the Coronet or Royal? My RC book only says 1954 Dodge so cant figure out. Would appreciate a reply. Thanks.

The restoration Quality shows. Wow.....!

Lot of people discourage restorers with the price and time tag.

Motivation level drops and sadly the end product will remain incomplete.

Nice to see such a good restoration in a long time.

I would want to get to that level someday soon.
