The other day I saw this 1975 Ambassador car parked for repairs at my friend's garage. It is very original but for the paint. The meters, lights, front grille, dash,meters, switches etc are all original. The instrumentation is too spartan. The Mark 3 was introduced to replace the Mark II during 1975 July or so. It was sold till Jan 1978. Its came into the markets just after the emergency was declared (25th June 1975) and lasted nearly a year after the emergency was lifted. During its model life, the car prices were partly decontrolled and the on-road prices suddenly went up from Rs 18000=00 to Rs30000=00.

The front indicators don't seem to be original. They look like those from the newer Ambys.
Yes the indicator covers were white in the original Mark 3. The housing is the same I believe.The orange ones came sometime in 1999. Even the chrome wheel covers are not original-these have the "three pointed star" !!
