Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

Very Neatly maintained stock machine. Previously, I have heard about the Variant and had a chance to see a Variant which was in Junk state in Mysore, that was the first VW Variant, I ever saw.

Now this looks beautiful. PK, I would love to see this car. Please take me for a short drive as a Christmas Gift

What a pleasing car - so clean and unmolested, super! Please loose the black wheels though.

Yes, i did not want to talk much about this car purchase, but COUNSEL caught me off-gaurd amidst heavy traffic.

Yes Karl, This car is a "Single Owner" 1967 1600cc Variant. Owned by a professor at TATA Institute, basically the first owner is his elder Sister, in which name it still exists

Has the Factory Paint intact, original upholstery intact, the jute seat covers are also imported from Germany, and 89551 miles on the ODO.

Though i am going to keep it as it is presently, i will certainly make the rims silver, give it a nice rubbing and polishing. But that will wait for few more months.

Amongst VW's the Variant is my favourite car.
And this particular car takes the cake.
I'm glad it has come to the right hands.

Congrats Pawan and wish you all the "BESHT".

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

Congratulations Pavan ji on the acquisition. Its really a superbly maintained car with all those original fittings intact (albeit a missing reflector at the rear) and not to mention the spotless dash too. Contrary to fellow members, i somehow liked the black wheel rims which contrast well with the light shade of the car. Just a personal thought. Do update us on this.

beautiful, well maintained engine ,a simple suggestion please add a resistance to the coil and place it in an upright position ,although the position may be original but i think the coil is not original Bosch epoxy filled, so for an oil filled coil an upright position is suggested, rest all looks perfect, congratulations again

Didn't realise you bought it, congratulations and treat her sparingly. The car has probably had an overcoat, tell tale signs are there, but she is super all the same. Happy motoring
