are you sure it is KRK4746, ??
because it is a KOTTAYAM (KERALA) regn number and is that of a BAJAJ auto as per RTO records[/quote]

Out first beetle was probably a early 1970's model 1300 RHD bearing reg MRJ2293. Was picked up by someone in Bangalore in 1985 or so.
Attachment 223230

and the second beetle being a original TR car also a 1300 but LHD bearing reg no MEO 933 breen was brought by some one in Bangalore in 1986.

Hi imperial,
I have sent you a PM.
There was another Coorgi owned red oval headlight MEO *** 3 digit number (don't exactly remember the number now, was servised by Appu in Mysore) was probably a 1965 or 68 in Mysore then in the 80's. The same family had one of the first Maruti SS80 (in Mysore) those days.

I'm not sure about that, never saw it at Lakdikapul. Always at Sec'bad only. In fact it has a Sec'bad regn. too. I think this is one of a few owned by a friend who's selling one now I'm told.

Something more interesting to share.

Untill 2007 Bangalore did not have one VW Bus, but off late the Club now boasts of

1- 1967 Split Window

3- 1970-1972 Bay Window

And one more coming very soon.

1- 1966 Split window - Owned by one Mr Taqit, waiting for restoration

1- 1972 Bay Window - With a dealer in Bangalore asking a price of 6 lacs

So in total there are 6 Bus's in Namma Bengaluru with one more adding in the next 48 hrs

Here is another Bug recently done up in Bombay. I have a picture of this car in the early 90s, where she was a dark blue colour.
