Interior work started in full swing. We in the mean time send the front two beadings to Allan for chrome plating. The wood work on the door frames were being test fitted.

All the trims that were fabricated and the handles etc were sent for chrome plating locally in Kolkata.

Fitment of the new dashboard and the meters. We fabricated the exhaust in stainless steel so that it lasts a life time. I managed to source a pair of good used Trafficators. The headlight domes were also completely gone, got new ones. We also had to fabricate the outer rims of the headlights. So we made them in brass.

The most uphill task in this journey was to find the correct missing cosmetic parts. The front grill, the bumpers and over riders the horn ring, original roof lights, I managed to source them from different parts of the world. Finally all coming together and then going in for chrome plating.The front grill is still in original factory chrome.

While the bumpers, over riders, horn ring and other items went for chrome plating, we started fitting the first lot of beadings and handles that had come back from plating. Also managed to source the ultra rare SIXNINETY scripts from the Wolseley owners club in England for the bonnet.

Also started assembling the front quater glasses with new Green tinted glass fabricated locally

Absolutely incredible stuff. In an age of "User and Throw" to keep the economy running - such restorations give an immense level of happiness and mind-soothing!
This has to be one of the best restoration projects that I have come across in a long time, and will stay a go-to thread, whenever I just want some peace of mind. Can read this one infinite number of times.

I thought of not replying before all your posts were completed. But just not able to resist the urge. Thanks a lot for taking the project up & making a thread of it. Kudos to the involved team. Look forward to the next steps.

This is an absolutely beautiful thread. Amazing work done on the car. That British Green looks really gorgeous.

I have this thread open in my browser and everyday I log in, I hit a refresh on the thread to get new updates. It is as if a new episode is getting released every day for a long series. Eagerly waiting to finish this series and look at the final product !!

The tail lamp based and tail lamps are completed and next the boot lock and headlight domes are installed... Before any of you think that I've used amby tail lamps, this car was manufactured before the amby and lights and lenses are bigger in size than an amby

We install the windscreens with the new rubbers and the original steel beadings that were already in the car. We also install the door glasses, rear number plate lamp and bumpers. Also the original parking lamps from England made by Lucas

Thank you. It's very difficult to get cosmetic parts for brands that have shutdown many years ago. Certain American cars are considerably easier to get parts for.

I thought I'd do the green rather than the black as I have got other cars that are black.

Interiors have almost got finished. We also test fit a pair of lucas spot lamps that I had in my father's collection of lights. Do notice the original roof lights in the interior sourced with great difficulty from England. The grill is also in original chrome

Dada Truely a labour of love, the minute details, no cringing corners, even the taillights are so genuine, the twist and remove type, to replace the bulb, brilliant.

The door cards, roof liner, I can go on and on, workmanship, where do we find them today, in the age of use and throw.

Finally we managed to test the car on the road. She was on the road after 20 odd years since our ownership and another 20 years before that.
