That's a sad sight for any merc lover. She seems to be really abused. For sale??
I think good compacts have almost become extinct. I haven't seen a good clean car yet. Ever. This one is a pre facelift model. <1973.

nice find eyedoc. a price for these cars are really unpredictable, it totally depends on how original the car is. i see u have a team stalking the car!! haha so let them do their job find out what they can. but looking at these pictures i strongly suggest that you think properly before you make a deal. its tempting dude really tempting to own a piece of history of the world's first car maker.

Thanks Shyam. Yes it has been quoted as you have observed.

Thanks Amol. Yeah I remember the car. I have detailed pics of her and i also remember how the greedy mechanic paid a deposit for it and wanted a kings ransom from us. I later learnt that he did not pay up and the car was eventually scrapped....Sob! Sob!

I did not know you were looking for a W115. If you want a W115, ill keep a look out. There are a few for sale now that would be fit for detailed restoration as you carry out.

The car will move to the paint booth in a weeks time. It took more than usual time as there was a flaw detected in the body work which took a while to correct.

This car looks like a 75K car. Please check if engine is original, whether petrol or diesel, or a petrol car converted to diesel. Pics of interior will be helpful. Externally the car looks battered. There must be much better cars available.

Good luck!

I disagree with BOTH of you, my car (1972 250 Sedan) looks MUCH better in Light Ivory Color # 670. It wins at all the car shows, must tell something about it's appearance. Light Ivory with chocolate brown Tex interior, dark Zubrano wood, all is show condition....my two cents worth. Notice the new factory alloys, REALLY adds to the appearance! My car is MUCH BETTER LOOKING IN LIGHT IVORY, period!!!!

Me and my friend plan to restore a similar W115.
from the first look at the car, the interiors are fine but the car needs external body work with rust everywhere. I wanted to know, from where can i procure the headlights and taillamps. as they are of a very different shape.
And also suggest me a suitable paint shop for tinkering and paint in Bangalore ?
I will update you all the details, once I procure the car.

Yes it is still on. The body work is done, seats done, Engine and Gearbox done. Was waiting fr some beedings and other stuff which have now been procured. Awaiting their import.
Work is slow owing to my other cars which are/were lying with him. The Jeep had to be given priority and now its the Dart. But side by side, work is going on. Will update with a few more pics soon. Sorry for the delay guys.
