The First Button on the Multi Button Switch which has 3 Pins and is used for the Wiper motor for Logical Sense (I mean Button having a Picture of Wiper motor corresponds to Wiper Motor).
Might make logical sense from the icon stamped on it, but doesnt give electrcial sense. A single speed wiper motor in an auto rickshaw doesnt require a two-way switch. Hence doesnt need the switch with 3 pins. I would only assume that the switches were wrongly assembled.

As for the Interiors At the moment using the old Seat and upholstery itself.

The Idea now is to make it run and See how its doing on the Road. Use it as it is for a month or so.. then get on with finishing the car - the Upholstery, Paint, Powdercoat and Chrome. New Tyres etc.
As Stated Earlier

The Seat Frame was Powder Coated and was back on the PTV.

Here is a Pic.

The Headlight Trim was Chrome Plated and put back on the Car along with New Higher Power Bulbs ie 60 amps along with a Cutout. Earlier they were 35/35 and the Light was not enough for the Night.

New Indicator Glasses were sourced ealier but they are White in colour. The Old ones were orange and are not Cracked or anything but have just Faded.

So Here are the Pics Before and After for The Headlamps and Indicators.

The Car has an external Means of Cooling for the Engine. ie. Not Naturally Cooled but Forced Cooled so here are the Associated Parts which is a Jumble to assemble Back. I will also need to remove the Body back so as to install this Cooling System.

A Rare Find - My Bajaj PTV (Peoples / Private Transport Vehicle)-auto-jumble.jpg

Now here are the Updates about the Brakes.

The Old Brake Master cylinder was refurbished. As told earlier the Cylinder was pitted on the Inside surface. The Final Solution to the Leak was that the Master Cylinder was Bored out so as the inner surface is smooth. Then New Oversize Seals and Pistons were Installed in it. So as to compensate the Bored out surface of the Master Cylinder. In the Mean time My sources in Bajaj have Helped me source a Replacement Master Cylinder Too. But Its a Little Different on Mounting, which can be sorted out in case the Old Malfunctions.

The Brakes were Bleed recently and now the Old Master Cylinder refurbished as BRAND new is Working Perfectly. But The New Wheel cylinder on the Right is Malfunctioning and Leaking where the Brake Pipe Fits.

Earlier I suspected the Brake Steel Pipes and Sourced a New one. But after Fitting the new one too the same problem is occurring so will try out a new Wheel Cylinder Tomorrow.

Here are some Pics associated with the Repair of the Brakes.

The Leak near the Master Cylinder was due to me missing to install one brass washer .

Hey Nice to see this Vehicle again.

This was one of the 5 Cars Registered Initially in Pune and was serviced by the same Master Mechanic Mr Pandit Jog, who still maintains the PTV owned by Mr Nagpurkar in Pune. Mr Pandit Jog has also helped me with the Master Cylinder on my PTV as he is been doing with my Yamaha RD 350 since years and Its a coincidence that its only yesterday that he spoke about the PTV you mention (Which was also totally Restored and sent to Bangalore by Mr Pandit Jog) and today I saw it here.

Now Out of the 5 initially in Pune
1) With Mr Nagpurkar in Pune
2) With Me in Pune
3) With Mr Chandrashekar in Bangalore
4) With a Lady in Pune (which i am in a Process of Tracking Down soon)
5) Was Stretched and converted to a 4 Seater was in Pune but Eventually Scrapped.

Yes the Bangalore PTV looks Different.
1) The Fuel Filler Location is Different than mine but similar to Mr Nagpurkars PTV.

2) The Banglore PTV does not Have Air Ventilation Flaps as seen on both PTV's in Pune.

3) The Door Locks and the Indicators are not Original.

4) The Wiper Motor Location is Different than Mine.

Else the PTV looks nice.

Re: A Rare Find - My Bajaj PTV (Peoples / Private Transport Vehicle)

Hello All and thank you for all your support and help, and today - 11.12.2011 denotes the First and Successful Ride of the PTV on the Roads.

It was huge fun and the PTV ran smoothly without any Glitches and I was very happy that it performed very well on its maiden journey. The Glances it got from the people on the Road was amazing too. The traffic on both sides of the road stopped to give way for the PTV to make a U turn back home. This First run was of around 4.5 Kms which ended with a Steep incline of my House entrance done smoothly by the PTV in second Gear.

So in all Now The PTV is back on the Road. It will be used for some time to ensure its reliability further before going for Paint.

This Thread will now be updated when I start the Paint Process.

Thank You All
Regards
Shreeram

Hi folks, Bajaj has now re emerged with a new face with new RE 360 claiming the ULTRA LOW COST CAR, this signifies that the new face of PTV has arrived.

Sorry Sreeram for high jacking your thread as I felt you and fans like you would love to know a new gen cousin for your PTV is out there, so sooner or later Sreeram you will might be asked to showcase your baby on some launch party of your PTV new gen arrival.

I do see a Fiat Select in the video, any pics for that you got. By the way you own a piece of history, now get that Maruti too (the one developed by Sanjay Gandhi).

Re: A Rare Find - My Bajaj PTV (Peoples / Private Transport Vehicle)

Any update on your PTV after your last video in terms of cosmetic restoration? Looks like the vehicle is in running condition now.

BTW the Fiat looks neat and hope it enters your stable sooner.

Re: A Rare Find - My Bajaj PTV (Peoples / Private Transport Vehicle)

After a Short Break, Work is Back in full swing on the PTV,
Last time we had Completed all mechanical work and done some Metal work on the PTV. Now its her turn to get a nice paint job.

Shifted the PTV on its side to get the bottom to a good condition, Sprayed it with a Synthetic Paint to prevent the underbelly from rusting.

A Rare Find - My Bajaj PTV (Peoples / Private Transport Vehicle)-dscn0557.1.jpg

So now the Underbelly is rust free and will remain for ages to come.

Start of Bondo Work after scraping the whole car down till the Metal.
