I thought I would update this for the benefit of those who may be looking for this info

I have used a company in Pune for last 2 years

Autoriders Rent A Car

They have Cars which have been properly registered as Rental Cars with Black # Plates with Yellow Lettering

Quite good cars and reasonable service including home delivery and pick-up of the car

Credit Card payments accepted as well
