Its very sad and shocking news for enthusiats like us, who look up to owing this increadible machine some day. For now, I feel depressed and very ANGRY and I must say its the worst decision Mitsubishi can ever make.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Went to Asian Motors (Mitsui ASC) today for some work in cedia. Was talking to an outlander owner regarding the car, performance, FE, etc, when I am told that a pre-owned is available. I started joking around with idiotic prices for the car, and the reporting person was just laughing.

Then, as usual I went to talk about the EVO and said "get me the Press Evo for 25 lac, I will buy it right now (though I didnt figure out that my bank balance is a little low for the same". And thats when a shocking news strikes. The person said "the press EVO is wracked, someone was test diving it in Noida at over 200 kmph, when a pedestrian came in the car's way". The car hit the pedestrian, who died with in a week of being admitted to the hospital. And, the car suffered some major damage". I was shocked.

Hey folks,

The Evo X has been officially launched here in Pune today.
Yokoshima wada - Head Marketing, H.M Mitsubishi Motors India has just formally launched the car.

Am tweeting live from the function @ Hotel Mariott, thanks to the T-BHP Android app

Its on the occasion of the launch of a 2nd dealer in Pune - Pethkar Motors.

Mr. Ashish Kaul - Head Marketing, H.M. Mitsubishi Motors India is here too.

Pretty simple function for the launch of a great lineage of a car - The Evo, if I can say.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Evo X does 0-100kmph just under 5 seconds flat. In the USA and UK its the most affordable high performance car that will not cost you a bomb. You can get it in USA for 45000$ i.e, just under 20 lakhs rupees. For that price it is sure a steal. But since we live in India and have to pay 100% import duty to the govt, its been priced for almost 50 lakhs which is double its original cost. This is the fate of any performance car which is launched in India like the BMWs and mercs.

Conclusion is high performance cars are only affordable for the rich people in India. If you want to make the Indian govt richer by 25 lakh rupees, you can buy an evo x in India. But remember that you bought a 20 lakh worth car for 50 lakhs! how will you justify that to yourself and your family members?? I would not go for evo even if i have black money with me. for me its just not worth it at that price

The Evo X u see in the pic was a brand new one, with plastic covers still covering the seats.
I don't suppose they are showcasing just one car for the entire country as the demo car !

Evo X when ripped hard can drop the FE to even 2 kmpl as per some TD reports. How many not so rich people can afford something like that even if the car is priced at 25L ?

According to Chennai dealer, that's exactly they were doing since it was launched. It was in Chennai for around 2 months on display and vanished. When I asked them, they said this is the same car going for test drives and demo from city to city. May be after wrecking that one, they were forced to bring in a new one for demo, I guess.

100% agree with you > If you notice, all the Hondas, Toyotas (except the Liva) & Mistubishis are overpriced in India. See the price of Accord, Corrolla, Montero here and compare it with the USD. Automakers are looting the deep pockets of Indians. And these people are merrily queing up for these overpriced mundane cars.
Surprising -

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Yet another masterpiece by Rehaan! I loved the part in the video where the EVO just scraped through while cornering! Awesome driving!

I dont know why, but i still like the looks of the EVO IX over this one

When I had heard that EVO X would be launched in India I was ecstatic! (maybe I could own one!!!)
Later on the price dampened my excitement!
Still its a good thing Mitsu brought in a performance saloon in India! Are the other manufacturers listening!!

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Spotted a SILVER Evo "10" in Mumbai a few days back going from the WEH towards Haji Ali.

What caught my attention was the exhaust note -- it was different.

Also, even at medium speeds i could hear a BOV.

The car looked "stock" from the outside. Perhaps the exhaust tips were not chromed, but thats it.

Does anyone have more info on how this car has been modified?

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Are they still selling the EVO X in India?

I am appalled at the 6 month warranty. The contempt that hindustan motors has for the buyers of its products is beyond belief. It seems their motto is to sell as many vehicles as they can with a minimum of risk and investment on their own part. So if there are 3 idiots who will buy an EVO at 50 lacs with a 6 month warranty, thats fine, because they won't take the risk to sell 30 cars with a 3 year warranty (illustratively)

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Harbir,

Yep - its still on sale. I think the monthly sales figures for the last two months was 1 EVO per month. (All 0s before that).

The 6 month warranty takes most peoples doubts about HM / Mitsu and just amplifies them!

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

I can't help but drooling over this car; wished I had that kind of money or that it was built here in India.

And this Top Gear (Tanner) video..
