Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Wow so its finally here. Fantastic review! Dont have a single question left to ask.
Wish the price was more affordable though. And what were hm thinking. A car that costs over 50lakhs with a warranty of six months. I dont think that will go down to well wunith prospective buyers. I hope hm launches the new lancer which would look closer to the evo soon. Atleast it would be more affordable even though it will have only the show and not the go. Thanks again for the awesome review.
Cheers

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

great review, very detailed and precise.

no one can argue that this is a pure engineering marvel, a piece of monstrous machinery.but at 50 lacs ex showroom i would rather spend it on nissan 370. i saw one zooming past me and it was a big car, in white and was fast and looked so wicked. dont get me wrong, the evo has its own territory. but wouldn't you rather be seen in a sports coupe/roadster made by people who also make the GT-R ?

i can imagine (ignorant) people going... "you paid 50 lac + for a lancer". then you would explain it has 300 hp and this is the evo and all.it would break your heart! my point is "its all about perception of the people".

also, i don't understand why can't they launch the normal version of the lancer. they sell it for 15000 $ in us. assuming cbu pricing. it would cost some where around 17-20 lacs. just an estimate but nowhere close to this level.

+1 to that.
But even id they launch the new lancer in India, why go the CBU way? they build the lancer there, just have to upgrade their line thats it! New lancer looks like a small bro tot he evo. But in US too i have barely seen 1-2 evos - you can get a bmw 3 series for that price!

Rehaan, Congrats on an absolutely m-i-n-d-b-l-o-w-i-n-g video. Your creativity & talent shine through the vid. A fitting tribute to a stunning machine.

Putting the link up here as well...and going back to watch it full screen once more:

& once again

Great job R. The video should easily help HM increase their sales of the EVO by 50%.

For those hard pressed for time go straight to 2:30-3:05 where Rehaan the dirtmeister throws the car around the corner in one wide sweeping arc almost kissing the barrier without bogging it down. Shows the sheer power and traction of the Evo as its rockets out of the corner.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Being a Mitsubishi CEDIA owner, I thought I should write on this thread. Rehaan, excellent video. Felt like playing NFS in autopilot mode
Read the whole post as soon as you posted it.

To me the interiors are impressive. I liked all-black in my CEDIA SPORTS, and this one looks even better. It is of my taste at least.

Frankly, I thought this could be my next car until I heard about the pricing.

The initial news were about 20-30L bracket and my hopes were really high.

5 kmpl is not that bad for a performance sedan. It is just the pricing that is not right.

Hope HM listens to this thread.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

@Rehaan

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

The guys who bought the manual EVO is an Arab. Their definition for "Fast" is very much different from ours.

Looks like the specs for GCC EVO and the Indian EVO is the same. Here is a link from UAE Website : Lancer Evolution

Surprisingly Mitsu offers a 60K/3 Year warranty on the EVO in UAE.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Absolutely mindblowing review. What are you guys upto? The way reviews are put up here in Team BHP beats the Road Tests & Reviews put up by almost all magazines in India. And, I am sure most of us in T-Bhp would have stopped reading auto magazines too.

Coming back to the car, I hoped HM would come up with a more realistic price. As someone above said, many prospective buyers who would have waited hoping the price would be 20~30 L will be utterly disappointed now.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : Test Drive & Review

Excellent review of a brilliant, iconic & legendary car Rehaan! I have seen few Evos on the road here in Manila and I drool everytime I see one. Not sure if they have managed to sell one though in India since its launch.
