I did a Pre-Registration check on my Vento TDi (Friday, 22-Nov-2013) and here are some pictures.

I intend to take delivery on Friday, 29-Nov.

During the Pre-Registration, the car had done 28KM on the ODO.

Upto this point, I'm pleased with the SA at Sundaram Motors who is helping me in my purchase. All the transactions are clear and my questions well answered.

Hope to have pleasant experience in my ownership and driving as well!

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Just covered 1200 kms in two days.

I'm planning to give my car for 4th service tomorrow(60,800 kms), Is there any warranty replacement (Like clutch hose earlier) I should be aware of?

Congrats Srikanthan.

Sorry for going OT - I can see a Red Vento parked in front of your car in the second snap. Has VW re-introduced Red colour in Vento?

I believe he was talking about the car parked ahead of yours, in the 2nd pic, not the one on the left. Could be a customer's car.

Do share the service details as mine is also around 61k and will be getting serviced in next two weeks. Btw, new vento TSI comes with hill hold assist and esp. I am trying to find out if the same can be an upgrade option for older vento. Do let us know if you know anyone who may have done that.

EDIT: First check engine oil level after engine is cooled down. If ok then proceed to next.

If not. Let the vehicle cool down, open the coolant reservoir tank and radiator and fill with fresh water. See if its holding level. Start the engine and run the engine for few minutes, observe for any leaks. (You might want to move the vehicle from the place you filled water if you have spilled too much water while filling.)

If there are no leaks and temperature gauge is holding you can drive the car to the workshop.

The Irony is the Vento DOES NOT have a temp gauge

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Hi Ventonians. Can anybody advise if the service center folks can make minor changes via VCDS like increasing the lane change indicators to 4 flashes from 3 etc at the time of yearly servicing & do they charge anything extra for such an effort ?

I believe some dealerships still have the old Red Vento in stocks since no one bought them , now no one will !

It would have an overheating indicator/light on the dash? That should help to determine if the car is overheating.

Welcome to Team-BHP!
Yes, it can be done very easily by the service center folks. they generally oblige. You can also have few other features like speed-sensing auto door lock activated (if it isn't already active). No, they usually do not charge anything extra.

Thanks ASVA. I already have the speed sensitive door lock enabled. In your experience, have you come across any other such hidden features that could be enabled via VCDS without having to install/fix additional hardware ?
