Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

Today got a chance to get a close look of Aria and XUV interiors almost back to back and i must say that Aria looks way better, while XUV for me looked cheap..

btw Aria with the discount the base variatn costs about 12.5 in Mangalore, a very decent price in my opinion.

Your wish will be fulfilled in the future, A stripped down version of Aria. But this is targeted for TAXI segment, so not sure what are the items that are going to be stripped off. Also not sure when will be the launch, some time after the STROME launch.

10 lakh on road would be too optimistic I guess, that too in Bangalore. If they do, then depending on the availability of ABS on the model, I ll plonk my money on it without doubt next year.

In bangalore on road price of Aria pure 4x2 is 14.91 L. 1 lakh discount, 50k exchange bonus, insurance free. still it will be 12.91. so 12.5 in mangalore is better.

What is surprising is TATA has hiked the price of pure 4x2 from 11.61 to 12.03 now. In dec 2011 they gave 2 L discount on 11.61 + road tax. so it was around 11.5-12 on road. now Ex showroom price is more, discounts are less resulting more on road price.

Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

Looks like Tata has discontinued the lower variants of the Aria AWD. The company website lists only Pride 4x4 under the price section, as does Carwale.

@amol, thanks for the nice review. The 4x2 ARIA is what you should compare with the Safari 4x2 for mileage. I have been able to do Delhi-Udaipur (~ 700 kms) on one tank (with the needle on the red zone), the car returned 13 kpl as a trip average. Mine is a 4x2 Pure, base variant.

I did a few ghat sections in the Kumbal garh and Chittorgarh fort sections (not much though), and the car did not lag even on the hairpins. Yes, the fact that the handbrake slips is correct, I did notice that too. However, starting on an incline in 1st gear (like to reach the Udaipur city palace main gate (Badi pol) was not difficult, as easy as in any other car.

The aircon is great, the car has seen one delhi summer very well, it cools very well (even in the ECON mode) I guess that is a real torture test for the ACs !

Will post some pics soon. Have done about 6300 kms in about 5 months now - very satisfied.

Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

Saw a hoarding near Bangalore Football Stadium (before garuda mall if you are coming from Victoria road) with 0% interest on Aria. Also heard in FM Radio that it's available at a EMI for 9k+ per month.

Guess - it is a absolute VFM proposition and hopefully this will lift Aria sales!

This offer is in conjunction with ICICI bank, the ceiling is 9.5 lacs which can be availed interest free for a period upto 5 years, of course terms and conditions apply. By the way, I came to know that Prerana Motors is offering a few Arias at mouthwatering prices.

Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

Aria website has been updated with Aria 4x2 Pure LX, shade under 10Lacs ex-showroom Bangalore! Well looking at the price and the feature or the lack of it all together, I am again disappointed :(

Dual mass fly wheel goes off in LX and in comes single mass flywheel. And yeah, ABS and EBD also says TaTa in LX version

Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

Tata Motors has released presser for the discounts and offers available during the festival season. It has the following line.

Quote:
Aria Pure will be offered at a special festive price of Rs 9.95 lakh
I am confused if this is the new variant Pure Lx or it is actually the Pure variant with 2L discount

You are right had their volumes been like a global vehicle programs ( like innova ) where a few million numbers are achievable. For a TATA its commendable a feat enough even to have it on board at these volumes. Unless they use off the shelf parts or shared parts with any other vehicle manufacturer , its going to be difficult for them to sustain if they have developed exclusive parts. Good part on TATA is they have in-house capabilities for almost any part and a pool of young engineering talent.

Tata Motors plans to roll out sub Rs 10 lakh Aria to take on rivals.

Tata motors is planning to introduce a sub Rs 10 lakh version of its Aria utility vehicle to compete with the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova and to increase its market share in the fast-growing utility vehicle market.

Re: Tata Aria : Test Drive & Review

I see many base model Aria on yellow plates now in Ernakulam.

They look very imposing on the road. But a deep dish steel wheel like the one on the Tavera would have looked great.
