It was standard. No special request made by me. If I remember correctly the Trendline variant did not have airbags.

Airbags were made standard in 2014 but ABS was only made standard after 2016 on the Trendline.

Hi Guys,

Quick query. I am considering the Polo as a used car.

Can anyone tell me, from which month-year did the polo make airbags and ABS standard across all variants?

Thank you very much for asking this question; got the answer. I am also in the market for a used Polo.

I need a fun to drive and safe diesel car. So shortlisted Polo (along with Ford Freestyle, but it is not abundant in used market yet).

After searching in various websites and brochures, I couldn't find that Polo has EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution).

Does the current Polo has EBD?
If so, from which year did Polo started to get EBD and which variants have EBD?

If even current Polo doesn't has it, do you miss EBD after experiencing emergency braking while driving in other cars with EBD?

I think Polo doesn't come with EBD. It is not stated anywhere in the brochure.

You don't have to worry about braking performance. It is better than most other cars in its segment and maintains its composure even under emergency braking. There's no unnecessary nose dive or fishtailing. Pedal feel is excellent.

However, I suggest that you upgrade your brakes with an aftermarket one. The stock rotors are of cheap quality and have warping issues.

I'm looking to buy a 2010 polo petrol 1.2 (non GT).

Anything to keep in mind while checking the car? Any known issues.

Do check for suspension and clutch for sure. Rest you need to check other things per usual checkups.

Thank you volkman10 for sharing this here :thumbs up

Personally, it is a bag of mixed feelings, as I am really pondering over the following thought:

Should I be proud of owning this German car that has on its own stood against an onslaught of Korean/Japanese/Home-bred competition for a decade...

OR
Should I be amused at the fact that this car which I bought a month back, is essentially the same one that was launched a decade ago !! lol:

You should be glad that it has stood the test of time and still looks good!

... A fanboy ;)

Count me in, not just good; to my eyes, it's still the best looking hatchback. And the only one whose build quality can be trusted, that maybe it is diluted - but less than others! :D

Can I still buy the GTI in India? It's not mentioned on the official website nor seen VW showrooms. Or is it now made to order?

I don't think you can buy new ones at this time. They may reintroduce it. If I remember correctly, they made 999 of them.

Great work VW, selling essentially the same car for the last 10 years!

I am considering getting the Polo Comfortline/Highline Plus (unless they find stock for my Figo booking). The VW dealership says that Comfortline has alloy wheels, while the website and everywhere else it doesn't say that. Is it true that Comfortline now has alloys by default?
