Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

The user manual for the polo/vento is an even bigger joke. It talks about the features/options on their international variants. When VW claims they have customized the horn to be loud enough to suit indian driving conditions, they haven't bothered to customize the owner's manual for their products here!

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

There have been numerous discussions on Polo's ICE and its upgrades on this forum. I wish to share the details on mine, which was given as a free upgrade by the dealer. It is a Nippon HeadUnit (NDC-MP-9019 BT) and is quite feature rich with Bluetooth, USB port, Aux-in and SD card reader. The display is not good during day time and te sound quality is strictly 'stock'. Has anyone else been offered this Head Unit.

brags, congrats on the new HU. Looks good and fits well there. Did you ask them for an upgrade or they offered? With BT, aux-in, USB, SD car reader, I'd say it's a good upgrade. Would VW take care of the Nippon HU's service/repairs in future (if anythings pops up)?

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Got the following activated in the Polo 1.6, this weekend free of cost!

1.Audible feedback when unlocking
2.Audible feedback when locking
3.Automatic unlocking when ignition key is removed
4.Automatic locking at 15km/h
5.Automatic locking of rear lid (boot) at 5km/h

The entire process takes less than 5 minutes!

Cheers!

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

As long as it is free . The only difference between this HU and the stock blaupunkt one is that this nippon unit has BT, USB input, SD card input and Aux-in port. Sound quality is nothing to write home about. This HU comes as OEM HU in scorpio!

Long pending one, isnt it?

One small correction - It is the fuel tank lid locking at 5 kmp/h. Boot is anyways locked as soon as you slam it shut! The VAS system mentions this as rear lid and hence the confusion.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Is this a common issue on all the cars..?

What i heard recently, VW is gearing up to launch newer versions of the Polo and the Jetta.

This feature was there is early 2010 polo's but removed in the 2011 variants along with the anti-pinch protection feature of the power windows as well. I guess they have re-introduced all these in the 2012 variants. VW is one manufacturer who is known for deletion of features without any notice, they did a similar thing with the vento too (removed leather wrapped steering, chrome inserts etc).
I have a friend who has recently bought Polo HL. I will surely check with him on this. If they have really removed these features, its ridiculous.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

After my lost dream Jazz, I am now inclined towards the Polo. Enquired here in Hyderabad and below are the details provided by the SC. Lemme know if this is ok, or I should push some more further.

TL P 1.2L
OTR - 589344
Standard Acc - 28750 Which incl. the foll
Matting
Mud flaps
Door steps
Side door protector
Body cover
Music system with USB
Seat cover and
Tubeless tyre kit

CL P 1.2L
OTR - 653555
Standard Acc - 20350 Which incl. all the above except Music system

HL P 1.2L
OTR - 757953
Standard Acc - 15950 Same as CL list

Now the discount and offers,
In TL and CL, if we dont go for Std Acc, that amount will be discounted along with a corp. disc of 16889 flat.

In HL, if we dont go for Std Acc, that amount will be discounted along with a corp. disc of 16889 flat.
Further 2 offers available.
Free insurance - Discount 23144
IPL Kit worth 40k
But we can avail either of the one offers alone. We cant club both together.

Now comes the final amount and decision making statements.
CL
OTR - 653555
Corp. disc - 16889
Total - 636666
Std. Acc - 20350
Grand Total - 616316

HL
OTR - 757953
Corp. disc - 16889
Sub Total - 741064
Free Insurance - 23144
Total - 717920
Std. Acc - 15950
Grand Total - 701970

Other than this, the dealer is not ready to provide any further discounts.

Downline, in CL and HL the music system doesnt have a USB slot and no sign of steering mounted stereo controls.

Now, should I go for the CL or HL. How much further I can push the dealer to lessen the price.

Enlighten please.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Can anyone help me please ?

I am using a Polo TDI Comfortline. Just bought the car few months ago.

I had been to the workshop in mumbai to get the VAS/VAGCOM features checked and activated. The service guys said that the Comfortline variant does not have VAS like :

- Speed sensing auto lock at 10 kmph.
- Auto unlock on ignition key removal.
- Fuel Tank Lid lock on 5 kmph.
- Audible beep on locking/unlocking.

Is this true ?

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Yes, all these updates are available only for the highline variant as far as I know. I havent known of anyone in the forum who have got these done for their comfortline's.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Sorry my friend. As far as I know all VAS updates are available only for the highline variant of the polo/vento. The list of all VAS features is available in the official vento TD thread, but none of these are available for trendline/comfortline variants.

Not sure about 1st three features but Audible beep on locking/unlocking is definitely available. I have this even in my TDI Trend line. So, it should be available for CL as well. Insist on getting that activated FOC. VW doesn't give list of VAS features taht can be activated on different variants & we have to depend on dealer for this.. Why they can't give a proper list of VAS features available across variants. Is it that difficult?

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Guys, some good news for us Gear Heads. Got some info from a friend in VW that the 1.2 TSI is on the cards.

It seems that they are working on it, so we can expect it soon. How soon is anybody's guess !
