Seat covers and matts from an accessory shop are a great advice. Yes, all accessories are overpriced by the dealer, but I noticed a difference in the quality of service between a dealer/authorised service centre and a local accessory shop. The dealer/service uses the appropriate nuts, bolts, grommets, clips, etc., to fix the mud flaps, while the accessory shop people use whatever means to install the mud flaps, etc. I have had a bitter experience with this with both my Innova's.

I also noticed that there is no heat shield in both Polo 1.6 & Vento 1.6 under the bonnet above the engine. The service guys told me that its not possible to install the heat shield, even if I want to, at an extra cost. The reason being that orders for spares are placed using the chasis number and if this number belongs to a Petrol 1.2/1.6 Polo or Vento, then the system does not accept the order for a heat shield. For diesel variants, it costs Rs.4000/- for the heat shield plus the installation charges. The heat shield will not only protect the bonnet from the heat but muffle the engine sounds to some extent as well.:D

I use my iPod Nano with the Innova's FM with a small attachment that fits like an original part of the iPod Nano. Its basically an FM transmitter which can be attached directly below the iPod Nano and derives its power from the iPod itself. No cables or other hassles. Can be tuned to any FM frequency. Uses the iPod display to show the frequency being tuned. Has just 2 up/down buttons on it for tuning. Is a quarter of the size and as slim as the iPod Nano. Has a VIA female socket for the iPod male connector. The sound quality is good enough for Rs.300-500.

really in a dilemma between VV polo 1.2 HL and i20 astra. both petrol variants. we are buying a car which is going to be driven mainly by my dad. took a TD of both. liked both. features wise i20 is really good but AC was not that good even in test drive. added to that is the shocking stories of steering rattling.
when we took a TD of polo the pick up, handling and gear shifting was really good than the i20. and we loved the look of both cars but polo does have the brand image added as well.
polo HL costs 30k more on road than i20 astra but the waiting time for polo is just 1 week as the dealer had already booked one car which he expects to reach his place any time. and i20 delivery is 45 days.

which one to opt for? polo or i20?

Goodies are more in i20 but Polo is driver's car. Very well behaved and reliable. Ergonomics is better. If you are 170 cms+ in height i20 has a little problem of dashboard bottom end niggling with your knees.

25 days is like dream come true man. Congrats! My friend waited a whole 3 months for the delivery. Pepper grey is one superb colour on the Polo. It looks very rich in this colour somehow.

For the Flash Red, VW Polo 1.6 Highline Petrol, I am given 2 weeks delivery time. Booked it.:)

actually when the sales person was speaking with me there was one car which was in transshipping for them "pepper grey HL" model. had we booked it then we woud have got delivery within that week. but my dad was not sure and he wanted to take another test drive of both i20 and polo and in the end got delayed by two days.
someone else had booked that color by then. they offered us silver color for dilivery within this week itself which we declined.

you wont regret buying polo.i have bought the pepper grey highline. i used to drive my friends i20 a lot before that. polo is way more fun to drive than the i20 and the handling is just great.go ahead buddy!!!

Done some PS mods to my Polo. I want my Polo to look like this in near future:)

There is no Heat Shield under VW's Polo & Vento Petrol cars. :(

Paid 3.75 Euro online to get the Full Report for the VIN number.

The VIN Report gives you a sense of satisfaction that you are getting the right product with the assured features and specifications. Also, gives an idea of the manufacturing date which is 18th March 2011 for our car.:)

Edited and printed the extremely useful Team-BHP PDI Checklist and provided one copy to the dealer to make sure they go thru the list first.:D
Waiting for the registration formalities to get over with.

The point I am trying to make is: the top most model of VW Polo does not even come with Standard features &/OR Basic accessories:Shockked: and they call it a Luxury Hatch:D
