Firstly, what is the average service cost for polo petrol just to get an Idea?
secondly, what exactly is a.m.c or the annual maintenance contract? I know its something to do with routine checks and services?! but I dont understand it fully?
And has anyone been able to get some basic accessories like mud flaps and mats for free off VW?
Thanks
This car VW Polo 1.6 needs a service every 12 months.
Engine Oil is the only major cost.
Rest is all under Rs. 1/- K
No need for any AMC. Nothing will go wrong & if it does, it will be under warranty. So do not worry.

2011 polo highline 1.2 petrol
  • Electronic OSRVM added
  • remote closing of windows (remote with the key) deleted
  • rear power window controls for driver's door deleted. Only rear passengers can control their windows, not the driver.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

by remote closing, do you mean that feature in which the windows can be opened and closed using the key remote? That was a very good feature!

This is a 'standard' with all Skoda's
So I assume that the VW will have it too.
The VW Polo 1.6 I have possesses the same key as my Superb.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Hi all! my first post!
booked a 1.2 highline pepper grey a couple of weeks ago at EVM cochin and 'god willing' I might get that in march. The sale guy was pretty sure about the electronic mirrors and he was hopeful that VW might add usb port and aux somewhere near the glovebox area in the coming months.

Note from the Team-BHP Support : Please avoid typing with excessive dots.........like................this. Thanks

I was very disappointed;
Tried to get my ECM Re-Mapped.
However, the Magnet Marreli ECM cannot get re-mapped here - went ti Kirrus.
Rather sad. I wanted the 1.6 to go from 105 to 120 if not more.
Hope it happens soon, I shall wait.
No Rime / No Tyres
Only K & N along with Auto Mec Free Flow is done so far.
ICE & Seats are O/S !

I'd love to have the gadget that points the orvm down at the pavement when reversing, bit simply adjusting? That is not something I need to do very often.

Perhaps it also relevant that I am the only driver of our car, so once stuff like seat and mirror position is set up, it never needs to be changed.
E-ORVM's are a boon as far as parking your Car goes and (re)adjusting them for high-way and in-city usage goes. It also helps if you entering a narrow gate and need to see whether rear fenders are away at a safe distance.

In fact E-ORVM's and rear wash-wipe are a deal maker/breaker IMHO.

I don't understand why VW is realizing this now! A 6+lakh hatch ought to have EOVRMs and USB port.

Good points. I hate not having a rear wash/wipe. I hated not having one on my last UK car --- it was a saloon, and saloons just don't. but once you get used to a hatchback with rear wash/wipe, you really miss it.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

suspension options ?

this VW Polo has 2 major flays;

a]
Brakes
b]
Suspension

Brakes - an option exist - disc can be installed in the rear - do not know where it can be done ? who will do a 100 % perfect & safe job.

Suspension in the stock VW is below par - needs to be changed - desperately.
What are my options ? Who sells them ?
Suggestions shall be appreciated ?

Koni ?
D2 ?
Bilstein ?

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

two things are direct imports - engine and the suspension.that was what the salesperson was telling me during the testdrive and i found it OK, much better than that of my friends i20. might be subjective.

Regarding changing the rear brakes to Discs. I know one such place near Pune. If you come down to Pune, then there is a place called "Tune Up Plus" on Balewadi-Baner road. Here's contact number of the owner: 98222049346. Name: Abhijeet.

He may be able to help in the suspensions issue also.
