Hi and thanks for your reply.
Had the car fully serviced(with oil change) and brakes double checked at the service center on 24th november.Had made a specific request for brakes. After that have driven approximately 500 kms.So that should not be a problem. When I pointed out to the service center person he said that it is ok for the time being and not to do it now.It is so minor that you have to be very observant before you notice the pulling to the left.
I asked about tyre rotation and he told me to do it after I come back.
In your opinion, other than the wheel alignment,is the car good enough for another 7500 km.
Thanks once again.
Regards

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Here is a good news for those who want to go for 2 din audio system for Beat:
Mega Audio multimedia system with custom made dash board center console / fascia for Beat.
The HU has got a 7" LCD Touch Screen, GPS navigation, Reverse camera support, Bluetooth, DVD, 4.1 Ch audio output etc.. etc..
The fascia is glossy finish similar to international models.
Saw this in Kropex last week.

These days, some issues need to get chronic for the service center to attend to. You are a better judge on how bad the issue is. If you think you can live with the minor left pull, it should be fine. Just be careful that you don't take your eyes off the road too much that the car lands up in a ditch on the left side.

When have you done wheel alignment, balancing and rotation last? If it was long back, and you do not want to go to the service center now, please get it checked and corrected by a reputed tire shop nearby. They might also check if the tires freely rotate on the bearing.

That's a great find! Something I've been looking for a long time back.
It's so tempting! But I wont be able to go for it now :(
Anyway, how much were they asking for it?

Hey, the accesories manager at kropex was trying hard to sell that to me when I went for my first service. It looks pretty impressive and is very tempting however doesnt make sense to me right now(would love to have it even though I would have to give up the blue lighting) since he said it costs around 40k(not sure, above 30 for sure) which is the cost difference between the LT and LS. I mention this because they try selling it to LS owners more since the LT already comes with OEM thing.

Hi and thanks for your reply.
Had a long chat with a senior workshop person at the service center.
He has reassured me and not to worry specially on the car pulling to the left.It is very slight.
I also mentioned to him that when I apply the brakes the car doesnt veer to the left.
Your point about rotating on the bearings. They are OK when I last checked personally. However that was before I left for Leh.
I did check with the center at the time of last service and he confirmed it was ok
Thanks once again
Regards

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

My latest FE results are in, 11.8km/l in 80% city, 60%A/C out of which 50-60% of the city travel has been in B2B Bangalore traffic ( I stress on bangalore traffic cause it sucks).

I am approaching 2k kms which is pretty much enough run-in time. I am going to change my driving style into slightly more performance based (higher revs) for the next run. I want to see how much of a difference in FE it makes. I am scared Ill get below 10 though!

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

FE update

Consecutively got 100 and 104 kms for a filling of Rs 500/- twice. Cost of petrol being around 67.60 per liter, the FE comes to 13.5 / 14 kmpl. The split was 80:20 highway to city both the time, with A/C on all the time. This is even after I've reset the ECU manually by disconnecting the battery. Totally frustrated with the low-end torque and hence couldn't resist opening up the throttle.

fUEL(LITRES): 8
Mileage:12.86

95 % B2B/short runs 70% A/C, moderate driving. I am not complaining!!

Would you mind telling me how exactly you calculated the FE here? As in how did you calculate 100 and 104 kms exactly on Rs 500 of fuel?

I would be really happy if I got these figures considering my running is very similar to what you mentioned here.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Can anyone tell how to open up the Beat interior light dome? The light is too inferior, and would love to pop in some LEDs. But can't get the dome open.
