Dear friend, one of the speakers of our Fiat Pinto was defective, right from the day one. That particular speaker used to produce distorted sound even at low volumes. We got it replaced *free of cost* under warranty.

For the record, my dealer was not willing to replace the speakers under the warranty. But I sent an e-mail to Mr. Mangesh explaining the problem and he made sure that we got the speaker replaced within a week or two.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Thanks theexperthand for your post. Even I have been experiencing this issue for the last couple of months on my 2010 June manufactured emotion pack. Showed it to 3 service centers, but none could fix it completely - the problem resurfaces after a couple of days of bad-road driving. Please post how they are fixed your issue once done.

Also, a few other irritants for me are:
1. Doors (especially the right front and rarely the right rear) makes squeeking sounds. Even after fixing the issue a couple of times, the issue resurfaces again.
2. The passenger seat belt makes sounds on both of its ends. Is it normal?
3. The indicator and wiper stacks make tik-tik sounds when going over irregular patches. Replacement would be the only option? Under warranty?
4. A hint of rust on a metallic pipe on the right side of the engine bay. Would they repaint that area under warranty?

Thanks,

Devan.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Fiat Punto's leaflet on the site has now the mention of TeamBHP.

Though, I think, I might not be the first one to mention it.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Well, finally fiat management is listening to team-bhp.com.
I hope it also goes through the write ups regarding poor after sales at tata work shop and learn that its time to call off the marriage of convenience with tata, which is more interested or too much occupied with its own workload

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Today morning, went to Prerana motors service center and they identified the cause of sound as loose link rod - said they will give the car in 15 minutes, but gave the car in 10 minutes after tightening the link rod and now the sound is gone. Will do some more drives on bad road to make sure if they managed to fix it permanently - hope the sound will not resurface after few more drives on bad roads.

Mine is a 4 months old Punto, I got the link rod tightened last Saturday. I think this is a common issue with the new Puntos.

3 Extocia Red Puntos parked next to each other in our company parking lot. What a sight to savour.

Really its visual treat for all fiat lovers and enthusiasts. You did great service to fiat community in general and punters in particular.
Well,if tata used the punch line more car per car ,its more true in case of Fiat.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

I did some more drives on bad roads and the sound is not coming. seems like Link Rod tightening did the trick.

Now I am facing another issue - my AC have stopped working. The air from blower unit is no longer cold. This happened immediately after the tie rod tightening. can there be any relation?

Plan to take the car to Prerana next Wednesday.

Mostly the "O ring" might have failed, another known niggle of Punto.

Hi Team, About to touch 40,000 KMS after 20 months,

before giving Shine for service, wanted to mention, suddenly in the last 2 months, there are small queaks, noises as if the metal is getting bent from the rear. not sure what they are.

ANyone experienced the same?
