This is true for all the mass market Kia cars (barring Carens I think). Seltos and Sonet too have different interior trims across different models.

Idk what the dealers mean by ‘personalisation’; at max they can add those stupid accessories / add-ons. Half of which make things gaudy and ugly then good.

However, the entry-level HTK and HTK (O) variants get black and grey upholstered seats with orange accents.

I have had multiple interactions with multiple Kia dealerships last year when looking for new Seltos and Carens. All the dealerships refused to change seat cover even if I was ready to pay and make a booking as the car seat side air bags and they were not confident if replaced seat cover could block air bag deployment in case of a mishap. The only accessories those dealerships have supported were side claddings, sticking chrome elements on various exterior body parts, mud flaps.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Some observations after watching the engine options and variants..
1. In India majority of the people don’t buy cars for performance rather for utility where reliability and expenses (purchase cost and mileage) are more important than anything else. In this connection if a customer goes to Kia showroom , checks both Sonet and Syros, finds Sonet starts from 1.2 NA variant which is enough for common family man which is not available in Syros as it is projected as premium( though Syros is built on K1 platform but Sonet on better K2 platform). This might make Sonet more VFM.
2. Syros has better space management due to boxy design and the rear sliding seats which is available from HTK+ variant. Here comes the second problem.HTK+ option not only has sliding and reclining rear seats but also panaromic sunroof ( also cruise control and many more). General opinion is that for our climatic condition sunroof is only a fancy item and might create problems in summer ( thinner sunroof shutter door cannot stop the heat) . Moreover many complaints are found in internet about sunroof leakage and rattling problems in long run. Considering these if somebody wants sliding rear seats but without sunroof, it is not possible . So people don’t want these combination might be pushed towards Sonet which is cheaper and better looking anytime.

Now I know that the 1.5L would make the car expensive since it won't get the tax benefit, but then the cost of 1.0 Turbo vs 1.5 N/A may have brought the cost down and it would've made more sense to the target audience of the car I feel. But what a brilliant package otherwise. I hope the mid variants pricing is at 12.5L ex-showroom to really put the sales chart on fire. !!!
I too have the same thoughts. Syros is projected as an urban SUV. NA engine would have been an idle one compared to a turbo petrol or diesel in metros. Kia didn't offer the 1.2 NA petrol because they want to project this as a premium product over Sonet. Also, offering 1.2 NA would result in cannibalization and price overlap. But they could have offered the 1.5 NA with manual and a CVT which would make this a complete & compelling package. Maruti being a cost sensitive carmaker offers 1.5L engine in Brezza and it is selling like hot cakes.

I really wish automakers bring powerful and potent NA engine to their sub 4-M offerings. Emission norms/ Tax slabs are often cited as reasons for bringing smaller displacement 3-pot turbos. But how is a turbo guzzler better than a fuel efficient NA engine when it comes to emissions.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Here are my two cents,

1. Kia Syros being on the most unsafe platform and the smaller platform (K1) than Sonet is clearly a bummer.

2. I felt the design of Syros and the name itself was very polarizing. Hence made some quirky edits of my own. I really wish Kia made some cool aesthetics making a perfect premium hatchback.

Let me know how it is!!

Syros has an advantage on its features and space, let us have wait and see how it is going to roll out.

Exploring the New Kia Seltos Top-End Diesel AT: HTX+ (O) | Features | Accessories & my thoughts

My visit to the KIA showroom near my place in Hyderabad

I was lucky to check out the most expensive KIA SYROS(I think), being the diesel automatic, with multiple accessories fitted. The 17 inch wheel size and tyres look chunky and much better than the 16 inchers on the HTX version. It is very difficult to differentiate between the HTX, HTX+ and HTX+(O), as they look almost the same from the outside.

I took some time to take photos and videos and did a detailed walkaround to cover the following items
  • Accessories fitted and its cost
  • All accessories available for Syros and their price list
  • HTX+(O) best features, interiors, exteriors
  • HTX+(O) infotainment settings/configurations
  • passenger airbag options
  • sunroof
  • my estimates on the on-road pricing.

Here is the video I created

Here is the list of the accessories with the prices

Re: Kia Syros Review

Also check out my blog & vlog on the mid-variant HTX, which was on another team-bhp Syros thread. Hope you like the video and the photos as well. The model is actually HTX, but one of the showroom person's mentioned it as HTK+ variant. The difference is very little with the seats/lights, but it is my fault as well, as I should have checked the brochure also. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics.

Is this Malik Kia showroom near Kukatpally Y junction, Hyderabad ?

If yes, then I visited the same showroom sometime last week and got to see Black HTX Syros MT on display. They did not have top end available at that time.
The black color does not highlight weird square cladding on the wheels and looked decent to me compared to lighter colored ones I saw online. The space offered by Syros on the inside is unmatched in the segment and the rear bench get so much leg room after sliding the bench all the way back.

Re: Kia Syros Review

An original design with character and loads of practicality (the latter again draws comparisons with the Yeti). A white gear lever with orange accents and we're not talking about some exotics!

A perfect form factor for a city friendly EV.

Re: Kia Syros Review

WHY DOES EVERYTHING WITH FOUR WHEELS HAVE TO BE A SUV? The carmakers are just playing along with the delusion of the SUV craze. Just market the car for what it is. This looks like a spacious car with a small footprint, very good for being driven around in the city. Just give it a clean look without the Zero-purpose cladding. Also, I find the placement of the headlamps and the tail lamps very bad. You think a scratch on the bumper of your precious car hurts? What about a crack in the headlamp then?.

Forgive me for this rant, but the beautiful variations of body types in cars have been reduced to “SUV sub-types”

Re: Kia Syros Review

Attaching the price list of all variants of the Kia Syros.
Kia Syros Review-20250201_090813.jpg

I had previously checked out the Syros and was pretty impressed with the same, https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5917914 (Kia Syros Review) also somehow my mother has taken a strong liking toward this car and it's seldom she takes interest in cars. Therefore decided to pay a visit at Kia Dehradun and show my mother the Syros and she too was SOLD on the car due to its expansive real estate inside, premium feeling interiors and relaxing reclining rear seats. We both really liked the keyfob which felt quite premium and different from generic keyfobs. Good job Kia.
Kia Syros Review-20250131_163043.jpg

The stylish keyfob
Kia Syros Review-20250131_162836.jpg

Also I genuinely feel the Syros is quite well priced for what it offers. For anyone with a shoestring budget the HTK(O) makes for quite a sensible package, it offers almost many of the must have features and even some nice to have ones viz sunroof, alloys etc making it desirable too. The top end is obviously quite expensive and if I were buying those trims I would simply pick the middle model of the Seltos only due to the latters' good looks.

Some pics of HTK(O) model

Anyways wish all the best to Kia for their Syros!

Re: Kia Syros Review

Kia Syros prices revealed.
Source: Autocar India.

I feel the top end variants are over priced. For a sub 4m car the onroad price for HTX+ (O) in Chennai (Diesel AT) is around 21 lakhs which is insane! You could get a Creta SX for that price!!

Kia is not interested to pass benefit of < 4m to customers, it will rather use it to garner more profit !!
