Its doing 5K monthly sales. Was the expectation higher? If so what do do fellow BHPians feel are reasons holding back the sales?

Re: Kia Syros Review

Hey folks!!
I had called Kia at Raipur for a test drive. They were kind enough to give me a long test drive.
First Impressions:
Kia Syros Diesel Automatic Top Variant
A) Never judge a book by its cover. Similarly don’t go by the outside looks or measurements. Even though it looks small on the outside, it had a lot of space on the inside.
B) I found the front seats to be comfortable. Rear seats were okay too. Rear seats too have a slide and recline function.
C) The steering had a flat bottom. Good for ingress and egress.
D) The display is crisp and all functions were available.
E) It is filled to the brim with features which are needed everyday and some more. The sunroof was massive.
F) The car had come with 51 psi +\- 2 tyre pressure. I took it to a nearby petrol station and reduced the pressure to 34Psi across all tyres. This helped improve the ride on breakers.
G) I was surprised by the fuel economy. The car returned 10-11 KMPL in my drive of 20 kms approx. I was surprised by this but 1 other friend confirmed the same.
H) We have a tendency to repeat our purchases. Like we purchased 3 Wagon R’s. Like the first one was replaced by the second one and likewise. Similarly 3 Maruti Ritz’s too. Syros is something similar. Once a person falls in love with it, they will replace this tall boy designed car with another one.
G) Diesel Automatic Variants are loaded trims. Hence, they are priced on the higher side. 20 big ones for a Sub 4 Meter car.
All in all, it’s a wonderful car with few misses..

Petrol DCT

Highway : 11.50 kmpl

Diesel AT
City : 10.80
Highway : 13.60

Is the boxy shape to be blamed for such low numbers? This car doesn't seem to be moving at the moment. I hardly see them on roads.

Petrol are always thirsty, I can accept it but the Diesel AT figures are lower compared to other cars. Heck, it's numbers are similar to what I get from my Hycross Petrol (Non Hybrid) with full load. BS6 Cars just don't seem to be as efficient as BS4 were.

I don't agree with Autocar Real World Fuel Efficiency Test.

I own Kia Syros Petrol Manual variant, and I get 9-12 kmpl in City and on highway with cruising at 100 KMPH as done by Autocar I get 16+ kmpl easily with Air-Con on.
Even in bumper to bumper traffic with Air-Con lowest I've got is 7kmpl.

In my last trip of around 300 KM, around 200km highway (cruising at 85-105 kmph) and sometimes going 130 KMPH+ as well, around 80 km normal city traffic (30-60 KMPH) and around 20km running with avg speed of 25 KMPH, I got an average of 16 KMPL and Air-Con was on all the time and 4 person on board with no luggage. And this was calculated using Tank to Tank method and not from MID.

MID and Tank to Tank method as of now I find an avg. difference of around 0.8 Kmpl.

Re: Kia Syros Review

BNCAP doesn't tell about the shell stability. Apart from that all the parameters are same as GNCAP.
