Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Congratulations to the Kylaq owners, you have probably the fastest affordable car in India. At CoASTT, In Narain Kartikeyan’s hands, the Kylaq is quicker than the BE6, VAG 1.5s, Verna, N-Line - basically every other performance oriented car below the premium brands!

That's no small feat to beat cars with bigger turbo engines & even EVs which are famed for their pickup. Guess Skoda can now market it as a spiritual successor to Polo GTs

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Skoda has registered its highest ever monthly sales figure of 7422 units in March 2025.

Kylaq has helped them to the extent that they are selling almost same number of units now which both VW and Skoda used to do together. Great job but they should not become greedy by raising prices and also add another variant between initial 2 variants to continue this trend.

An automatic below 10L ex showroom is a must, that will be the final push needed for Kylaq. VW India should see this as an opportunity to bring a product to shoulder their Kylaq sibling .

Black definitely is the color to have!

That's pretty impressive with the extra ground clearance, no 4-wheel disc brakes and a 40+hp deficit compared to the Verna, 1.5 TSis, etc. Do you know if the tyres are normalized among the cars?

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Kylaq is a winner from Skoda, best part is unlike some manufacturers they are focusing on the base variant that's an absolute steal at 7.89 Lakhs. Hopefully two more variants are introduced between the base and Signature variant

No, I don’t think so. And maybe the track was in better shape this year.

That is very impressive. And it event beats its own sister the Slavia with 1.5 DSG, with just 1.0 MT. On the other end Altroz racer is a disappointment. It get beaten by the much less powerful 3 cylinder Swift. Does not deserve the moniker "racer" in its name.

Sorry but am yet to see even 1 base model in NCR. Even 1 dealer confirmed they are yet to deliver a single base so far.

Can anyone help me buy a Kylaq for the Rs 7.89 base price? I asked dealerships, but they are not accepting

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

The drive quality of Kylaq is simply awesome, the car in sports mode just makes you grin ear to ear. I own a Hector as well and while it is a cruiser on long distance routes, the Kylaq is surely the sports car that I own and makes you feel like driving it more and more in the sports mode.
I feel that together with Kushaq and Slavia, this brand has helped Skoda reach common household, now they just need to get the service element right. I did visit Skoda service center in Gurgaon and well it needs a bit of an uplift in-terms of staff energy and enthusiasm.
Also has anyone noticed that the boot door takes an extra bit of effort to close. Is this something I should get checked or is it normal?

That is just marketing, they’ve done the same with the Onyx on the Kushaq

Try PPS Skoda; the PPS Skoda in Hyderabad gave me a quote last week for the base model.
