Signature+AT was well within my budget but for Prestige, I have to stretch.
You should have gone with Kushaq Sportline instead. Same platform, engine, more space! (I think the discounts are still going on for 2024 models)

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Has anyone in Delhi been able to get a test drive? The showrooms close to my home only have display cars. This is a rather infuriating wait. Skoda really needs to make this easier.

Since I had stepped out, I took a look at the Kia Syros and that interior is in another league. That car is upmarket and premium, and the reclining seats take it to another level. If the Syros third variant is priced close to the Kylaq, I feel like Skoda are in a lot of trouble.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

checked the car in nearby showroom. Only one display car was available, no test drives until Thursday. Car is well built. It has solid feel outside and inside. Only one small gap in tail light joint. While the interior does not feel rich, it does feel better compared to Kushaq in terms of fit/finish !

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Test drove the Kylaq Signature+ at the Jakkur showroom's unveiling today. Only the Prestige and Signature + variants were available to see and test drive.

Long story short, it's a Kushaq with a smaller footprint. While I could only do a short test drive, was very happy with the suspension and handling. I'm an even 6 feet tall, and had no problem sitting behind my ideal driving position.

Quite the looker too, in all shades, but especially Olive Gold!

Allocation for bookings will start by 2nd week of February is what the advisor told us. I have a booking on hold for now, just waiting to see how the Signature variant looks in person.

Most of the interior items look like my VW Virtus GT. When they come up with a new model, they should have brought in some refreshing interiors instead of copy pasting from the existing models!

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Kylaq looks really smart. Skoda needed something very strong to enter into this already crowded and highly competitive segment. One wrong foot and you will be out of the race. I feel Kylaq ticks most of the boxes. This could fire up the competition more. Can it live upto to the sales charts of Nexon, 3X0, Brezza? Only time will tell.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Did a short test drive of automatic variant. Overall feel is similar to Kushaq. Steering is too light for my liking. Little turbo lag is felt at lower speed. Easy to drive in city condition

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Checked out Kylaq today @ PPS Skoda, Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore. They have one AT and MT Prestige for TD but could not try due to time constraints. They have one Signature+ too as a display unit. Prestige ticks all the boxes except the rear seat space where 3rd middle person would sit will not just feel cramped but also back support has to be managed with hard bottom side of arm rest. Not suitable at all for adults and even kids. I'm in two minds now. Either I have to accept that it's a 4 seater and go ahead with the beast or start the hunt again for comfortable 5 seater!

One more update regarding 360 degree camera. SA told that they are already fitting them as accessory at a cost of around 40K in Kushaqs by punching holes at the bottom of ORVMs to make provision for cameras. Same would also be extended to Kyalqs as a accessory but approval from higher ups are pending.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Signature AT seems VFM. But in the feature list comparison in a website, it mentioned that Hill hold control / Auto hold is not available. And also no folding rear seat. Is it so ?

They seriously need to take care of this basic feature in entry level AT. Many buyers in this segment stretch from a hatch budget to get a CSUV low-mid variant. If Skoda is thinking to sell majority as higher variants only, they should forget numbers. Again the same story of low numbers is not going to help.
I agree that it's disappointing, but I don't think it's a make or break feature. There are many sub-4m AT cars and maybe some larger than that that don't have hill hold. Most are AMT equipped, so I imagine it's a pain driving them uphill especially in stop-go conditions.

I think the torque converter's inherent torque multiplication at low speeds (please correct me if I'm mistaken) helps mitigate rollback when stopped and other such issues (jerky starts on inclines) compared to those cars. If I was looking for a budget 4m AT car, I wouldn't mind trying the Signature variant, at least. But I agree that it's disappointing.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Suppose we just activate Hill Hold via Coding.

The car underneath is the same for all variants and these changes will not cause compatibility issues with the ECU nor will it these features demand more from the car’s electrical systems (e.g., more power for mirrors or sensors)

What can go wrong, Any thoughts?

What in the world is a budget car doing with 29k LED headlights?

The ones on the xuv 700 are 12-13k. They even have integrated monster DRLs.

I'm sorry but I simply cannot fathom why we are falling for the 'Fabia' trap all over again.
