Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

So looks like Kylaq doesn't get the dynamic guidelines on the revese parking camera. Anyone knows if Skoda can add it in the future through a software update?

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

It is interesting to see that there is only a 29 kg difference in kerb weights of kushaq and kylaq. In one way we can think that they haven't compromised in the body quality, but feeling bit sad in thinking that there won't be much improvement in the performance compared with same 1.0 L TSI of kushaq as their body weights are almost same.

I’m not sure a software update will solve the problem. Also, Skoda and VW should work on bringing in modern reverse cameras instead of using those outdated cameras in their current models.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Good effort FROM Skoda India, but don't you think the upper variants are priced too close to the discounted prices of the Slavia and Kushaq?

The only issue I see with the Skoda Kylaq is the backseat, where three people can’t sit comfortably. This is something new car buyers will consider. Skoda should have made the backseat flat to accommodate three passengers comfortably.
Bench width, under-thigh support & knee-room are important points for rear seat evaluation. Question to fellow members- which is the best 4M SUV on Rear Seat parameter?

Correction. Dynamics would vary due to:

1) Shorter overall length - less over hang before & after the wheels.
2) Width- Kylaq is slightly wider than Kushaq

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Finally the long awaited official review of the new ŠkodaKYLAQ is out. Thanks to Omkar and Suhaas307 for the crisp and apt report with all the details!

Being one of the founder members of the FansOfSkoda and SkodaGearheads communities, I had privilege to participate in few events, the Camouflage design workshop, Name revelation ceremony and finally the launch event in Mumbai. Also had participated in the paid CallOfTheWild drive event along with family and fellow BHPian, also FansOfSkoda founder member sachin_cs. Needless to say, TeamŠkodaIndia curated every single event with due professional approach and with great attention to detail.
Here are few moments -

• With the CEOs, Klaus Zelmer and Piyush Arora at launch:

On a lighter note during the interactive session with Klaus Zelmer, I introduced him with two popular words in Marathi- 'Lai Bhaari' means 'Awesome' and 'Naad Khula' means 'Mind-boggling' ! I further asked him to repeat both the words after me and he responded very happily letting the entire audience burst into a laughter !

• With Brand Director Petr Janeba at Sterling Resort, Pench :

• With my family & Sandeep Fernandes, Media PR Head Skoda:
Skoda Kylaq Review-img20241130wa0145.jpg

• First prize to our team at funny games:
Skoda Kylaq Review-dsc00846.jpg

• Big shout out at the CallOfTheWild event to welcome ŠkodaKYLAQ:
Skoda Kylaq Review-dsc00715.jpg

As expected ŠkodaKYLAQ received great media attention and a reasonably good response from enthusiasts and prospective buyers since the pricing was revealed by SkodaIndia.

• My own compilation to WelcomeKYLAQ:

• And here's the 'readable' version:
Skoda Kylaq Review-screenshot_2025012617465147_254de13a4bc8758c9908fff1f73e3725.jpg

I personally think, this time SkodaIndia has come up with a winner in the segment targetting the mass market. The footfall to SkodaIndia may increase with the introduction of ŠkodaKYLAQ and that may change the much needed growth trajectory for the brand here in India !

Cheers

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Nice review! I think Kylaq in my opinion is hands down the best second family car which has the perfect AT (No AMT and No DCT). This is ideal for that bumper-to-bumper traffic in Bangalore. DCT gets heated and AMT has the judder.

I have been driving a Kushaq 1L AT for more than a year. I have grown to appreciate the "AT" part. which is a non-DCT and Non-AMT. I had put in a review comment on Fronx on the 1L AT when it was released. We finally chose the Kushaq thanks to its drivability and a 5-Star NCAP. If I had the choice of Kylaq I would have gladly taken that given its smaller footprint.

All in all an amazing all around package from Skoda especially the AT version. It's a hands down no-brainer if one wants a non-DCT and Non-AMT. There is no other product in the market with this engine + transmission spec today. The FE on this combo is definitely not great in a bad traffic scenario. One needs to watch out for that before he/she choses the 1L TSI.

Hope we will get some more products like this before the Indian market goes a full EV and/or Hybrid.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

As per this Cost calculator to change the 'Luna Moped Horn' that comes factory fitted, which I believe all will, the cost is up to 5K!

What are the issues faced in the rear seat of Dzire? Is it the inclination angle or the thigh support that cause fatigue?

Wow! The labour cost is too high, just for a horn change.

Brezza and 3xo imo. Rest all feel like 4 seaters and not enough thigh support.

Width wise and knee room, 300 is best in segment.
However under thigh support is abysmal in 300 however best in Kylaq.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

The Kylaq's rear door and glasshouse seems very similar to the contemporary Fabia, a much cleaner design than the fussy Kushaq rear window

A long time since I found resonating comments about a well priced Skoda

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Aren't the bookings for the base variant supposed to be open from 27th January? Can't find the option on Skoda website.
