ASC quality & cost. Must be fair though with service packs Skoda has really pulled this back. Also full credit to Zak Hollis for this paradigm, shift.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Hi Guys,

Need some advice in making my First ever car purchase!!

Use case:

1. As of now daily drives include a maximum of 15km daily with in a tier-2 city(or town to be precise), with moderate traffic. There may be a chance of moving to a metro city at a later point in life, but not very sure enough.

2. A trip of 340km both sides, once (sometimes twice) in a month.

We are a family of 4 (Me, wife and elderly parents, all below 5'6" height) and expecting a child in 3 months time.

Cars considered after my multiple test drives and lots and lots and lots of team-bhp reviews, ownerships and what not:

1. Skoda Kylaq Prestige MT
2. Kia Sonet HTX Diesel MT/AT

Heart wants the Skoda, brains pushes towards Kia(for better FE).

I would have voted for Kia Sonet diesel if there isn't any DPF issue. But I very confused whether my use case can fulfill the necessary RUN-IN required by these modern BS6 diesels to keep DPF at bay.

I request all of you to throw some light and thoughts to let me finalise my purchase.

Thanks.

For your monthly average mileage of around 1000 to 1500 kms approx, with mostly in city, preferred choice would be Kylaq MT/AT.

Diesels with DPF issues better suited for people with more mileage and mostly on highways.

Since it is your first car, and possibility of moving to a metro in future, my suggestion would be to go for AT.

Happy motoring!
