What I remember specifically in my conversation with the SA is that for Prestige and Signature Variants the dongle is included, but for the remaining variants customer has to pay for the connected car features. So you can definitely buy it at extra cost
I got delivery of my prestige AT yesterday and don't know if the Inbuilt connectivity is thru a dongle or really inbuilt like in the car entertainment screen.

Mom and I are pretty much sold on the Lava Blue Kylaq but our dealership did not have any Lava Blue cars to take a look at.

Thanks in Advance.
Thank you Gamerk. I will surely share the pics soon. In the meantime you can check YouTube for Lava blue kylaq videos ( I too had shared one on this topic earlier). We had booked two colors, lava blue and Carbon steel and were hooked to lava blue the minute we saw it in vids and thereafter in person.

Its through the dongle plugged in the OBD port. Gets linked to your mobile number, and you can check the telematics in Myskoda plus app by logging in through the same mobile number.

The dongle is also part of the accessories, for variants not getting this connectivity from factory.

I am not able to find it anywhere online and dealer is also not sure of it. Can you please share more details about it? Like price and if there is a brochure for the same that you could find.

Did you check your car if it has that dongle attached. I am not sure how the dealer would be unaware since it would be exactly similar as kushaq and slavia

Yes same as inbuilt connectivity, mine got activated today after a reminder call to dealer.

Thanks Rhaegal. Do you have a dongle connected to OBD port, under the steering wheel?

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Hello members,

I had left the car for ceramic coating at 3M, BSK 2nd stage. I’m happy with the outcome & also with my choice of white color. Did consider PPF but it was out of my budget.
Waiting for opportunity to drive it more & get to know the car more.

White really looks gorgeous! I'm also waiting for mine, same shade. Can you please share how much you paid for ceramic and what was the quotation for PPF? And the address of the centre since I stay around Uttarahalli area.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Kylaq comes with the following warranties
  • 3-year standard warranty, extendable up to 6 years or 150,000 km.
  • 6-year anti-corrosion (rust) warranty.
  • Service packs
  • 3-year paint warranty.

If a PPF is done and the gum damages the paint, warranty will be void. May be this should be factored or clarified with the dealer

Its a dongle as mentioned by dealership for variants equipped with connected car tech. Also after installing the Skoda connect app I realized it only provides some very basis functionality and not as advanced like engine start stop or AC on/off etc. So you are not going to miss much, even in my Hector in 3 Years I have remotely switched on the AC may be twice although I live in North India.

Most dealers will offer this service through third party when inquired. I do not think this will be a problem.

Hello,
Yes, white does go well with the black grill & with the silhouette of the car. The ceramic coating package came close to 50k for the whole car & I have chosen 3 year package.

I had enquired for PPF from various PPF applicators in Bangalore & the price varied from 85k to 2L. Dropped the idea of PPF as it was out of my budget & when I had initially booked lava blue colour.

3M Banashankari outlet did a wonderful job & the paint looks much fresh after detailing & coating.

Would recommend you to get in touch for more information & you can refer me just incase.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Thank you all. I checked below the steering rack and this is what the dongle looks like. Checked with the dealer and per them I need to wait for notification on its activation, which may take upto a week. The dealer has no clue about the anti theft feature mentioned in the brochure. As per them Kushaq and Slavia have a red light indicator for anti theft enabled cars, but Kylaq doesn't has any such light.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Took delivery of our Signature MT in Candy White on 2nd March from Krishna Skoda Jalandhar, Punjab, whole 3 months after a first day pre-booking on 2nd December. Delivery experience was good and the staff kept us updated throughout every step since the vehicle chassis number was allocated to dealership. They had no problem with us refusing the quoted ₹49k insurance and even agreed to match the ₹27k quote from one of our contacts, but we ended up getting it for even ₹6k less than that by doing the process ourselves online. Didn't opt for the 'Elite' accessory pack costing ₹7k either as we were getting the 10" screen + rear camera from dealer itself which they initially quoted ₹29.5 for, HUGE thanks to the accessories price list on TBHP forums we had them cross check and got it for ₹26.5 (more on this in pictures). Final cost was around ₹10.9L

Reasons for; variant: wanted to stick close to 10L as possible and the 2L jump to Signature+ did not seem worth it. Petrol + MT was a must. Other cars we had interest in include Brezza VXi 1.5 MT (interior felt same as our 10 year old Baleno, only the boot space and 1.5 petrol was a plus) and Sonet 1.2 MT (under-powered, features overs basics). Some features from our current 2015 Baleno Zeta MT I miss: auto headlamps, rear window washer, puddle lamps, electric folding mirrors and keyless entry (not a deal breaker though).. Some features I frankly don't miss: push button start, climate control (Skoda knobs are sweeet compared to the touch controls);

colour personal opinion, it looks second best in Candy White (first is still Lava Blue, oh those Kodiaq and Slavia I see on road) but maintaining a dark metallic colour has been a pain and I wanted it to be easier this time. The sharp creases and features in the body are clearly visible in white and it provides a great contrast with the plastic cladding and gloss black grill!

I will refrain from sharing the pros and cons everyone has mentioned so far but a quick overview would be- Great looking, great to drive, Solid build, too many hard plastics inside but no creaks i.e proper fitment, some very obvious cost-cutting though the price justifies that.

Here are some pictures-

Door edge guards from Kushaq hehe

DHC Infotainment + RVC:
The placement is same but the factory fitted unit has the camera and boot opening unit combined, but for the accessory they had to drill a hole next to the handle/button and fix it there. The lens is also more of a fish-eye than the Prestige or Signature+ one, comparable quality but is displayed larger.
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk7.jpg

Another funny thing and a red flag! As I was taking photos today to make this post I put the gear in reverse, then back to first but the screen froze at a photo of the rear view. I turned the car off/on but this time the screen stayed off. I turned the car off for another 10 minutes, then the screen started working again (major sigh of relief). I blame the specs of the unit, Android 13 running on 4GB RAM, Spotify and Google Maps was running in the background. Reminded me of my android jelly bean phone days! I have shared a video of it with the dealership contact, awaiting response. Oh and there's also a minor screen bleed. So the answer... risk the warranty and get an aftermarket screen or upgrade to Signature+? That's a decision future buyers have to make while we're stuck with this one for now.
Photo of it not working:
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk8.jpg

Rest of the default screens:
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk9.jpg

Minor cost cutting 1) Boot carpet/board flimsy, the MDF piece is not all the way to edges:
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk4.jpg

2) Some visible wiring under drivers seat ( for airbags?)
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk6.jpg

And finally how the owners manual looks like
Skoda Kylaq Review-nk5.jpg

Overall happy with the car and delivery, I hope the screen doesn't bother any more. A goal of choosing a fun to drive petrol MT and safe Sub-4m 'raised hatchback' close to 10L has been completed after half a year of going through various cars.
