Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Brought home our Skoda Kylaq. From test drive to finalizing the purchase it was 2 Wks flat, hats off to Skoda staff for being pro-active and getting the car delivered in 3 days flat from the date of booking.
We brought home our Tornado Red prestige AT. First experience with Ring Road Skoda Gurugram was really pleasant for the below mentioned reasons:

1) Made us feel valued as a customer, they really were pro-active and went the extra-mile to convert the sale
2) Agreed to PDI readily even with third party (Although I did the PDI myself)
3) Got the loan processed from nationalized Bank on a Saturday to deliver the car on Sunday
4) The sales team following up post delivery
5) Car made available for a test drive immediately on request and was offered to do a long test drive to ensure customer gets to check out all the features
6) Shoutout to Rahul Siwach (SA) who did an excellent job
7) Insurance quote match offered
8) Everything was ready on time for the delivery, we did not had to wait a single minute

The car is excellent, although while some of us say it is not as premium as other SKODA, I feel it is very good compared to other cars in the segment. May be it is the build quality that is creating the perception of value. Ownership review will follow shortly, for now extremely happy with the purchase, wify loves it.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

A very good car took a test drive for my friend its better than basically any CSUV out there. The back seat is the only weak point and the XUV300 does do better there however for everything else its a good VFM choice.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Got delivery of our Skoda Kylaq Signature Plus last week. Car looks good, engine remains smooth till 80 kmph doesn't feel like 3 cylinder ones.

Did a long highway drive of 400 km with mostly B roads returned an average of 15 kmpl, mileage reduces drastically once inside city. I felt a slight vibration /rubbing feeling on the steering wheel when cruising at around 90 km/h. I need to observe it better.

Does anyone know if Skoda Telematics is available for the Signature Plus variant?

Congrats on the purchase. The brochure does show ‘inbuilt connectivity’ available in Signature plus. However, you can also check in the car near the fuse box (right side below the steering), there should be OBD dongle fitted. If yes, your dealer will link the dongle IMEI and car details with your mobile number.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

My Dad and I are both in the market for a small Pseudo-SUV. Dad because mum's knees are making sitting down in their low Hyundai Elite i20 a challenge and me because of wanting to change both my cars so needing a rejig.

Kylaq was top of the list as I liked it on paper and it ticked most of the boxes. So I went to the showroom and took a test drive of the Prestige AT and saw both Signature plus and Signature variants.

Everyone has said most of the things so wanting to avoid repetition just posting my thoughts.

- Prestige At comes to 17L OTR in Pune and I think that is too much money for what is being offered.

- Signature/Signature plus have odd things that they miss out on that you still don't expect on cars costing 12 and 14 L OTR. Like, autodimming IRVM, autofolding ORVM! These things are present in cars from a decade ago and costing much less than this.

-Enough has been said about the rear view camera and I agree that it is atrocious! Interestingly, the aftermarket Skoda approved system that they offer for 20-30k in the Signature variant has a better/bigger screen showing the reversing view.

- The seats are funny. They have large side padding compared to the central area so they appear to be smaller and feels like sitting in a toy car. My Polo has much better seats. They are comfortable though.

- Rear feels a bit cramped definitely compared to the i20 but funnily even to the polo. Possibly due to the funny seats. The leg room is kind of ok though.

-The slider controls for AC in Prestige and Signature Plus are tedious to use. Prefer the manual controls in the Signature.

- I am familiar with the engine/gearbox as it is the same one in my Polo, but it seems more refined here rather than being explosive like in the Polo. Dad will like it.

- The ride is very nice and spot on. Definitely a plus point!

- Boot is big enough and has a clever Skoda slot to store the parcel tray if you do need to remove it increase the boot space.

We are going to test the Venue and the Sonet as well. But similar variants are bit more higher priced and the auto comes with the unreliable DCT and they all have floaty ride and steering.

I feel despite its shortcomings, we may opt for the Kylaq probably the Signature variant. But overall I had expected more from the Kylaq.

Thank you sir,

On road was 17.7L. I got the insurance on my own.
I bought it from Tafe St. marks road. No freebies or any sort of discounts were given. I did get 3 year service package complimentary & that’s about it.

I was talking to this aftermarket vendor and he informed me that he might be able to fit the reversing camera in the 7 inch signature screen. The camera placement will be exactly like top model, above the number plate. But since it comes with the boot lock and will need a module to talk to the 7 inch screen, the entire setup might end up costing about 20K. Does anyone know where the dealers are installing the DHC camera? In the bumper or in the boot door?

The year 2025 has just begun, no? What's the start and end months for 2025 cycle? Mar 2024 to Feb 2025? Felt they are too eager to give away the award.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Have a PDI coming up soon for the Kylaq and have been looking for a offline-readable PDF of the owner's manual to brush up on things to look for. And all I could find is their online-only version, which is rather inconvenient to read.

Has anyone found a PDF copy online? Unable to find this for any other current Skoda models either.

And to any Kylaq owner - do they provide a printed copy with the car?

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

People who have driven the signature AT without the hill hold, how's the experience in inclines? Is this something that can be easily activated aftermarket?

Curious to ask, is Skoda aftermarket friendly. How does that work with the warranty?
