Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Hey guys,

What are the basic accessories that you are planning to buy along with the car?

I am planning to buy Signature MT, so multimedia system with the reverse view camera is an essential buy. Trying to understand what else should be bought at the onset along with the car.

Accessories that I highly value as below considering I have booked Prestige AT:
1. Front parking sensors
2. Scuff plates
3. Door edge gaurds
4. Mud flaps
5. Sun blinds
6. Dashcam

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Has anyone test-driven the Kylaq with 16" wheels and can share their opinions in comparison to the 17" ones? I'm wondering if there even is a noticeable difference, and if the 16" is better or worse with respect to comfort and dynamics. The dealership in my city does not have any non-Prestige variant for test drives so there is no way for me to be able to tell. TIA!

Congratulations! Curious to get your opinion on the front parking sensors. Please do let us know how well this integrates and whether you'd recommend it.

To be honest, I couldn't tell despite multiple test drives. Until you asked, it hadn't even crossed my mind even though I'd read about the 16 inch wheels leading to a more comfortable ride. (on Team-Bhp as well).

What variant are you considering? What I can assure you is that the non prestige variants are extremely comfortable and come with very planted dynamics! I wish the alloys were nicer though!

I'm considering the Signature+ AT. Thank you for the information, gives me more peace of mind haha!

I took the essential accessories pack for my Prestige AT, and got the sun-blinds, mud flaps, 3d mats, car cover, perfume, a starter cleaning kit and a Usb C to C cable as a part of it.

In addition I got the Kylaq scuff plates. But only when it was installed I realized its only for the front door sills, not rear.

Have also ordered the Skoda Dual Tone horn, should come next week. The horn that comes with the car is pathetic.

Let us know how are the front parking sensors, and if it is integrated into the head-unit.

Dashcam, I have installed a Botslab front and rear dashcam from outside.

I have driven both the Signature+ (16") & Prestige (17") Torque Converter versions.

The riding is definitely softer in the 16" compared to 17"

Both variants have possibly class-best suspension & ride.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Thanks for the suggestions.

For my Signature variant, I am considering the following accessories:
  • 3D Weather mats
  • Mud flaps
  • Sunblinds - rear
  • Multimedia system with RVC
  • Door visors
Based on feedback of users, I may also opt for Front parking sensors in the future.

Other accessories I am planning to buy (Skoda/ outside):
  • Body covers
  • Dashcam
  • Air purifier

I also plan to take similar accessories for the Prestige AT. Regarding the dashcam, could you please share any possible consequences of warranty issues due to installing dashcam from outside?

I have checked multiple sample shots of the dashcam that is being offered by Skoda as the genuine accessory and I feel the recording quality is quite poor even during day light, evening / late night would be just useless.

Regarding the front parking sensor the showroom guy said its the same as the one being offered on Kushaq / Slavia and you can search online for its reviews. Someone has uploaded quite a detailed video about the sensor, right from installation to how it function, again its quite basic, but better than nothing I suppose.

Check out the below YouTube link (not my content, uploaded by someone else):

Above link is already shared by fellow bhpians. Few may think it's very basic and needs manual intervention to switch on the sensor. This I definitely feel non intervening as it means we can activate it only when needed and surely help while parking in tight spots which is the case with mine.

Are scuff plates only for front? Can't we get separately for rear? And did you get the dual tone horn and how does sound? If you can share audio sample of it then it would be great. I'm also looking for them but preferably with milder tone.

To clarify, I'm yet to get my Kylaq delivered but the front parking sensors would really help me.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Kartikeya (MotorInc) mentioned in his review that the TPMS in Kylaq is lowline instead of highline. Anyone planning to get the highline TPMS installed? Will the screen be able to display the individual tyre's pressure if we get the sensors installed from aftermarket?

The Kylaq official Scuff plates are only for front, you can also check Skoda accessories section in website where its mentioned its only for the front. For the rear, I have put up some tape style thing for the door sill. Attaching pictures of both.

Reg getting camera installed from outside, there is no warranty implication as it's just using the 12v port. You can order off amazon, and fix it yourself too.

I got it done from outside, as I was also getting sun-film installed from that shop.

Re: Skoda Kylaq Review

Was browsing the skoda website. And found that Kylaq appears in all 3 vehicle categories - City, SUV and Sedan.

I can understand 'City' and 'SUV', but in a 'Sedan' category!!

Coinciding with the Ciaz being phased out? For those, who do not remember, he was the face of the Ciaz once upon a time.
