Re: 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

A noob question. Why does Toyota offer only one variant for Camry? Is it since monthly numbers are less thus to avoid logistics hassles?

You don't need an EV charger as there won't be anything in this vehicle to plug it in. I'm not sure about pure EV range, I would guess ~10km. The motivation of hybrid is to let the battery drive in conditions where it's much more efficient and an ICE will be terrible. (Bumper to bumper traffic is a great escape)
My Camry hybrid (July 2024) gives about 3km in pure EV mode when the battery is fully charged and when it is at low speed on flat tarmac. If you increase the speed or travel uphill, it automatically wakes up engine.

I guess that is a fact. It is a premium and niche product. It does not make sense to have multiple variants, though this time around they have introduced the Sport variant to cater to younger audiences.

Re: 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

Really great iteration of the product. Looking forward to availability of test drives in showroom. Whoever is on the price bracket for sedan can now compare between Seal, Superb and Camry. Seal and Camry are more comparable in price but Camry would be more comfortable and luxurious than Seal, is my current bet. Will try to test drive both back to back when available.

Re: 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

I have been in touch with dealers in Bengaluru since the car was launched on 11-Dec-2024.
Surprisingly, even after 40 days since the launch, BLR dealers still do not have the final on-road price for this car.

As per this thread, team-bhpians are speculating the OTR price at 60L OTR in Bengaluru (5 lakhs more than outgoing model).

Has anyone (especially those who have already booked the Camry) got any sense of the final OTR price (preferably for Bengaluru, other cities also fine).

Good review! I took a test drive of this vehicle.

+ Spacious cabin
+ Good features/feature loaded
+ Petrol Hybrid

- Not so good looking
- Previous edition was better
- Did not like the plastics and finish in the interiors
- Too much of road noise
- Regarding mileage, I am not sure about the claims as it is more power for the same engine capacity as Lexus ES 300h
- Over all doesn’t feel premium
- That “wow!!” factor is deficient

Re: 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

Vehicles have started arriving in showrooms. Today I visited one of the Toyota showrooms in Thiruvananthapuram. The pricing for pearl white as usual is higher than other colors. Approximately 62 L on the road. They have a vehicle, but the paperwork to start the test drive is in progress. I will probably try it as soon as a test drive is available.

The Camry looks majestic, especially in white (lighter colors). The interiors are comfortable and luxurious. There is ample space in the front seat and back seat (I am 5.11 and adjusting to my driving position gave enough and more space). The sun blinds along with boss mode front seat adjustments make the experience awesome.

One of the features in the old Camry that got missed out in the new one was the front seat headrest tumble. (The headrest of the co-passenger would tumble down giving the backseat occupant an unhindered view of the road.). Not sure why Toyota decided to cut costs on that feature. You could always remove the headrest and keep it in the boot for the same experience.
