Skoda is now providing multimedia system with rear camera as an accessory that too with licensed wireless Android auto & Apple car play.

This is certainly a first from Skoda & a welcome change since fitment at the dealer provides peace of mind & no questions on warranty.

Accessories that I highly value from the given list for Prestige model:
1. Front parking sensors
2. Scuff plates for front doors. Appreciate if available for rear too.
3. Door edge gaurds
4. Mud flaps

Need info on below if someone knows:
1. Sun blinds are useful. But are they retractable?
2. Drive Video Recorder, is it same as Dashcam? Needs hardwiring? Or plug and play? If plug and play, can existing Dashcam be ported to Kylaq?
3. Multimedia system with rear camera, should be same as the one provided in higher variants?

(On road Bangalore) we get the following extra on the Signature plus and following is the perceived approximate value, (feel free to chime in)

The Signature variant gets a small screen and a cockpit hence we should add value let's say a Rs. 20,000 for that, it's not like there is no screen on it

Solution the Signature Variant (AT) is for 12,85,000 and Signature plus is 15,05,000

Install Skoda Infotainment Head Unit Touch screen 30K
May be also:
Change the Steering wheel to get paddle Shifters 10K
Get Interior Theme and seat covers for 30K

Below 14 Lac one can get a good car and still save 1 Lakh, instead of going for the Signature plus assuming you agree sunroof is a gimmick

Staying away from android aftermarket touch screen:
These will not get android updates
Software and hardware are patchy with very high chance of errors issues and failure

Factory Linux based Head unit are tested and designed with the car in mind for automative use and stability

Looks like Skoda is killing the attention and all the buzz that was created with so much delay (been 2 months already since its unveiling). Their India tour is slow and they have not even revealed in the major cities like Hyderabad yet

We can only look for recent updates from YouTube videos explaining the car without driving it. I'm concerned about the rear seat space. With Kylaq having the second longest wheelbase in its segment, how is the rear space? If anyone here has checked out the car at the ongoing event, please share your views.

I booked the Signature AT variant of the Kylaq from Tafe Access in Bangalore. I'm interested in adding a few enhancements to my vehicle.

Paddle Shifters: Would this require replacing the steering wheel?

Hill Hold Assist: Is it possible to have this feature installed by SKODA after purchase? I'm hesitant about aftermarket solutions and prefer a factory-integrated system.

I would greatly appreciate any information or advice you can provide on these.

During my personal inspection of the rear seat space at the Orion Mall Bangalore display, I found it to have adequate legroom and thigh support for two adults and a child. Although it can technically fit three adults, I wouldn't advise it for extended drives due to potential discomfort.

I spoke to PPS Skoda today and here are the excerpts:

They will not install the Prestige steering on the Signature, however as per me upgrading the steering seems to be the saftest way to get paddle shifters.

Peter Janeba in one of the interviews had said that the lower end cars come with "all connectors" however he may be referring only to the infotainment system, or it could be the entire car

The steering is a critical component and would involve TCU reprogramming to recognize inputs from the paddle shifter and that needs diagnostic tools (like VCDS for Volkswagen/Skoda), however for us the showroom has to agree which seems difficult and without them on board warranty is an issue

Prerak Kataria is on Teambhp, he has done it on the Polo GT and should be able to answer both about shifters and Hill Hold

PPS Skoda confirms that the Infotainment head unit offered on the Prestige is the same one that they have listed as an accessory, can be installed on the Signature with the same reverse camera, costing would be 15k to 18k approx.

Surprisingly! PPS also said that they are installing 360-degree camera on all variants for around 30K and they do it for both Volkswagen and Skoda that they sell, and warranty will not be void for PPS and Skoda accessories which I am skeptical say if I take my vehicle to TAFE

They can't change a steering but can install 360 camera!

Also, the 360 cameras may use a CAN-bus connection which may give a poorer image on the Linux Skoda system compared to when it's installed on an aftermarket the android systems.

Thank you so much for this comparison and for the perceived value as well. I've moved away partially from thinking of the Signature plus as extremely overpriced to now thinking of it as mildly overpriced. I like the idea of the listed features integrated into the car at the factory and while i'm still grappling, i'm coming around to feeling comfortable with the premium.

You missed two other features that were important for me:
1. Rear seatback split
2. USB Charging sockets in front

That being said, it is great to see Skoda offering the multimedia screen and rear view camera as an accessory. I've been told to expect it to cost about 35k.

I also had the chance to see the Kylaq on display in Delhi yesterday, and it truly is a mini-Kushaq. It feels better put together, and has minimalistic yet premium vibe to it! Waiting to drive it!

The Signature Plus MT has an on-road price of 13 lakhs in Delhi. I guess the AT adds a lot in your case.

Not sure how they are going to fit the cameras on the body! If the provisions are already in place then it could be a marketing gimmick to showcase Kyalq's price to be competitive within the segment and then provide missing features at additional premium as after sales. Phew!

Booked the Signature+ Variant (Carbon Steel). Really wanted to go for the Signature variant but wife says Hill Hold, Keyless entry and Autofold ORVM when you door lock are a must have features. For her it'll be an upgrade from our 10 year old WagonR. I currently drive a Virtus 1.0 which has been an amazing purchase. Considering the fact that they share the same engine, same build quality and stability, 14.25L (approx on road) is a good choice.

From what I see in the accessories brochure, it seems to be a third-party infotainment screen and not the one you'd see on the top-of-the line Prestige variant.
