Also since car sales seem to be very slow are there good deals to be had on Alcazar and what should I expect?

Thanks for all the help

It depends upon your priorities, the Hyundai Alcazar has a refined ride, premium interiors and better fuel efficiency and comes with a 1.5L Turbo Petrol with DCT producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque.

The Mahindra XUV7OO on the other hand offers even more power with a 2.0 Litre Turbo Petrol engine producing 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It also boasts good interiors but is safer owing to a 5-star NCAP rating which isn't applicable in the Alcazar's case. Moreover the XUV7OO is larger and more spacious as well. However, it is a fuel guzzler and mileage is not great which should expected owing to its heavy nature and more powerful engine.

Now coming to prices, the Mahindra is significantly more expensive but prices have been slashed by over Rs.75,000 recently, the Alcazar 2024 models are being sold with discounts of over 1 lakh at many dealerships as well, Now the key to making a decision here is whether you want a more compact and more manoeuvrable vehicle with better mileage or would prefer a more powerful engine with large intimidating size and stance along with a more spacious cabin.

Now coming to the discounts, Alcazar is not a hot seller but getting a 2024 model in late March may not be as easy as it sounds, so a 1 lakh discount seems fair, you could negotiate a bit and try to get more discounts to get the deal done.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

Quick update on battery drain warning issue: Received call from Service Center Head today that update is ready and I can visit center to get it done. As per the update from many owners across India in a social media platform, its an ECU patch update. Probable root cause was power getting supplied to RADAR system even after car is switched off. This update has fixed the defect and it will stop battery drainage.
I am waiting for feedback from other owners before going for the update. Don't want this s/w patch to introduce any new bug as it is still not a stable release over OTA.
Will keep everyone posted with updates.

Hyundai has released ECU Software/Firmware Patch to address the Battery Drain issue on 2024 Facelift Hyundai Alcazar. Please approach your dealer/service center to get the same updated. I got mine done today. Now it's game of wait and watch.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

I'm happy to share with everyone here, I have booked Alcazar Petrol Signature Black 7 seater on 24th March, expecting to get delivery on Ugadi, 31 March 2025. With 3 days of transit time to Hyderabad, I believe it's quite possible.

For now, no additional accessories are discussed with the dealer. Does anyone recommend anything to be added at the time of delivery, kindly let me know.

I will try posting buying experience sepaerately at a later time.

It's heartening to know we have potential fix to the battery drain issue, I'll enquire with dealer Service team if they received the update at their end.

1. 3D floor mats

2. Rear Windscreen and rear 3rd row quarter glass sun shades. Helps in privacy and heat reduction.

3. Rear 3D boot mat

Hyundai India Product link in text.

Lastly a dual (Front & Rear) dashcam. Dealers should be having one in their accessories list.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

I had parked my Alcazar petrol DCT for 4 days by engaging electronic park brake first followed by parking mode in gear selector. When I started the car today, I released the Electronic Parking brake first followed by engaging DCT gear in neutral. I waited for few minutes and then shifted to D. I heard "thak" sound as if some clamp is released when I pressed accelerator. Is it normal?

What is normal procedure to park DCT automatic cars?
Is it electronic park brake first or engaging park mode in gear selector first. Alcazar manual says to engage park mode first followed by electronic brake.

You should follow the manual, as recommend by the manufacturer.

Yes, cause when electronic parking brake was disengaged, full weight of car was on the P lever. Which is why the sound.

Correct way is once the car comes to standstill:
1. Press brake and move gear lever to Neutral
2. Keep the brake pressed and engage the electronic parking brake EPB
3. Release brake. This will put weight of car on EPB
4. Press brake and engage gear lever in Park mode.

Correct way to get car moving (after doing above)
1. Press brake and move gear lever to Drive or Reverse (as needed)
2. While keeping brake pressed, disengage EPB
3. Gently release brake to get moving.

Got the update done today and the process was smooth, completed in 20 mins max. GM Service personally made sure that the updates are done. Will monitor for few days by keeping car idle. I am sure Hyundai would have done great job.

The "thak" sound is from disc brake calipers being forcefully released as the car tries to move after a long time with hand brake ON. I had similar observation after keeping the car standing for 1 week. This is quite normal. However, as a precaution, I will not be putting the car on hand brake if I am not going to drive for long. Long time ago, my Alto's tyre got stuck even though it had drum brakes and I had to call my FNG mechanic to come and bang some hammers on the tyre to release the drum brakes. Better to put some stone beside tyres to prevent it from rolling.

Also, I have penned down my 1776 km update about how the car drives now, my observations, windshield crack and repair and ECU upgrade. You can read everything on my thread (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5949114 (Hyundai Alcazar Review | Our Creta Pro Max)). I can answer based on my learning of the car, if it helps others.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

Got the delivery for my Signature DCT on Sunday. Have driven around 200 km till now.

I am loving the driving experience as this is my first Auto and a clear step-up from my Nexon petrol manual. The NVH is at another level compared to other cars in the category and all electronics work as expected (big deal for me coming from a TATA

The only irritation I have as of now is that the interior is full of hard plastic, would have been better if Hyundai had given more soft touch spots.

Will share a detailed feedback post some more driving.

Just had one doubt, when I start the car, is it required to disengage the EPB? I though it is automatically disengaged when you move to the R or D mode from Park.

I faced service related issues with this dealer.

I'll never suggest or support any dealer from now onwards. Every dealer is more or less the same. They'll behave well with us only till the vehicle sale. Once the vehicle rolls out of the showroom, their true colour comes out.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

Update on 12v battery issue:

I got the ECU update done on Sunday and after leaving the car idle since then, started it just a while ago, after almost 72 hours and I didn’t get any 12v battery warning which earlier used to come after 24 hours. There has been no issues thus far and everything is working fine. Bluelink app is showing car as connected with all the statuses in ok condition.
Looks like the fix has worked

I have taken delivery of the Hyundai Alcazar Signature DCT Black on 30 April 2025. Got mud flaps, 3D alcazar brand floor and boot mat. Dealership did not had the sunshades (A+C and Rear). Unable to decide if the side step is required, it's priced 18999. Decided to wait until the first service for that.

With all the bells and whistles, family and I are having super fun travelling in it. I have taken it to Hyderabad ORR to open up the throttle and it was super fun. NVH levels are great, hardly hear anything from outside. Using the Cruise control and Lane keep assist as much as possible on the way to office ( Miyapur to Gachibowli) as it has lane markers, it's super fun to see how reliable car keeps it in the lane while maintaining the distance between cars.

Does anyone recommend to install side step, does it have any functional value or is it only aesthetics? Would like to know from current Alcazar owners on this.

We don't have one. Most of my family members are on the lower end of 5 feet have no trouble getting into the car. I don't remember my 60 year old relative having any trouble either.

On a 6 airbag car, it is going to affect the working of side impact sensors as well.

Congratulations on bringing home new Black Alcazar. Did you go for 6-seater or 7-seater?

₹19k cost for side steps is on higher side as per my perspective. I would suggest you use the Alcazar without side steps for 2-3 months and see if you and your family needs one on day-to-day basis. You lose some ground clearance with side steps as these are installed under the body.

If I remember from my experience of rear seat of Alcazar, egress from rear seat required me to lift the legs slightly as there the floor panel between door and floor is slightly wider.
