Exactly same thing happened with me. I got the part from Mahindra service center, Gurgaon and got it installed by 1 of their staff member. Job card was opened. Total i paid was 608 (no labor charges as this was a 1 min job)

So it all depends on service center you choose.

Even I’m now thinking of cancelling the booking. If what Mahindra customer care said is 100% true and not just some kind of marketing stunt, then honestly, it’s a really poor strategy.

What’s the benefit for early booking customers who helped create that 1.7 lakh booking hype?

Just a suggestion - anyone who booked before 2025 and has an estimated delivery in the coming months might consider sending an enquiry to Mahindra to see what response they get. Let’s find out if there’s more to this.

Did you check mparivahan portal for RC details ? You could verify the insurance validity as well there. If it is not updated better to goto the RTO office directly and talk to the RTO and give a written complaint. Better to do this asap since by any chance if there is a discrepancy as the dealer suggested, might face issues in any untoward situation of insurance claim.

The point of registration is dealership, and they are responsible for document update. Send a mail to Mahindra and escalate the case with the owner of dealership. Include your local rto email id as well.

Also, I don’t remember a process of insurance company updating the registration number. Indeed insurance for new vehicle is issued on chasiss number and engine number as per form 22 which is used for registration. So Registration number getting updated on insurance is not a requirement to start with because until registration is done there is no registration number allotted.

Today, I received a call from Mahindra customer care, and they informed me that the request sensor will only be provided to customers who book the car in 2025. For bookings made before 2025 even if the delivery is scheduled in 2025 car will be delivered without the request sensor.

Seriously?
This is not how it works. Once they update the tooling in the manufacturing line, any car manufactured after the cut off VIN and if that meets the criteria of the trim level will get the updates. As far as we have seen in this thread, nobody has seen the request sensor in any of the dealer yards till date, only on the celebrity car.

I would recommend you wait a little bit and wait for confirmation here or from other sources , these days anything new will have a walkaround video on youtube from a dealer yard somewhere in India as a confirmation of the request sensor and then proceed for the delivery in the next couple weeks after the confirmation if you really require the request sensor.

Eventually, I too think that the request sensor will make it, but honestly only a few folks here on teambhp would really know and they will not spill the beans on when it will be released. At this point, it is a waiting game. You may get delivery now and next week the sensor may appear or you may end up waiting 3/6 months before the sensor appearing.

+1. Would love to hear about your experience, Manveet. Did you get a chance to check the impact on weight, on-road handling and fuel efficiency when compared to the stock wheels and tyres?
The stock tire size on the Thar Roxx AX7 is 255/60 R19, but I had a pretty clear vision of the look I wanted—something with a sidewall that extends about 1.5 inches outside the bodyline, while keeping the overall vibe neat, clean, and fully blacked out—nothing flashy or over the top.

I went back and forth quite a bit between 20-inch and 17-inch wheels before finally settling on 17s.

Ended up going with 265/70 R17s on Fuel Vector alloys, which gave me just the stance I was aiming for—without needing to go super wide with 285s, use spacers, or shave the caliper. Just had to trim a small section of the inner front fender lining.

This size also kept the overall diameter within the 3% tolerance, which was important to me. I initially considered BFGs, but eventually chose the Maxxis RAZR AT. Really liked the aggressive MT-style pattern in an AT tire, and the reviews were solid—no road noise, and good overall performance.

I only drove on the OEM tires for a couple of days, and that too very lightly, so can’t really compare driving dynamics or mileage changes.

Check again - my dealer gave me 62k for cashless future generali AX7 AT Diesel

You need to push and have a good relationship else buy it from outside. Your quote is way too much.

I don't think that they will do so. The 6-speed longitudinal Aisin gearbox in the AT that Mahindra uses, which is also shared by the Scorpio is only rated for a max torque load of 400nm. Hence the Diesel tune for both Thar and Scorpio maxes out at 380nm, since most OEMs suggest the car manufacturers to not run at full rating but 10-15% lower.

The mHawk diesel can go well beyond 400nm. It get a 440nm tune in the XUV700 top spec D AT. That uses a different 6-speed Aisin TC that is transverse since the XUV is FWD.

Get a quote from the same company the dealership is providing insurance from, keep it handy, as well as quotes from other insurers. Once the car is allocated and they send out the detailed quote, get to the bargaining on unnecessary addons and the insurance.

Here is a list of quotes just for your reference, all policy quotes are with at least the following addons, i.e. Zero Depreciation, 24x7 Roadside Assistance, Engine Protector, Consumables, Key & Lock Replacement, Invoice Price, Tyre Protector IDV of at least ₹14,24,050 and inclusive of GST:

1. Zurich Kotak: Rs.45,746
2. United India Insurance: Rs.40,728
3. Digit (pay as you drive up to 15,000 km/year): Rs.. 48,834
4. Tata AIG (with Loss of Personal Belongings, Daily allowance and Hotel and Travel Expenses additionally and IDV of Rs.14,52,531): Rs.49,455
5. ICICI Lombard: Rs.53,163

Thanks a ton, Manveet, that was very detailed. Also, good to know that you did not face any clearance issues with the 17 inches - have been hearing that anything below 18" touches the front brake calipers in Thar Roxx.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Potential hack need more people to verify this.

So this is a sound quality hack, i own an AX7L NEBULA BLUE and not very happy with sound quality of H & K speakers even after tweaking various settings too. But i figured out some thing which I want fellow bhpians to try and let me know.
Switch on your car ( after it has been off for a while) Let any song play via android auto ( automatically connected) . Now make a call via system and let the person pick it , talk fr 2 3 secs and let it disconnect and let it resume to music automatically there is considerable difference In bass Same song same settings. Please check and revert is it just me.

Any idea how to change display units from kPa to PSI? Also, should the spare tyre details be shown as well? This is for the AX7L model.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Just received a call from my dealership that the AX7L with mocha interiors which I had booked on 3rd October 2024, is going to be billed from the factory soon, and if I would be buying the vehicle, they will continue with the billing. When I asked them how much time will it take to deliver the vehicle, she had no idea. Can anyone shed some light upon how much time does it take to reach the dealership after billing from the factory. Thanks.

You should expect the car in the next despatch to the dealership, usually dealerships get atleast a couple of despatches a month, one in the beginning and one towards the end of the month, so you can expect it to arrive at the dealership in the first week of May.

In my case it took around 20 days to reach my dealer which is around 3000 kms away from the Mahindra Facility . depending where you are located it should take less time . I also booked in 3rd October 2024 .billed on 10th Oct and reached dealer on 30 th Oct 2024.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Has anyone tried a 360-degree cam on their MX3 with the stock head unit? Hypersonic has one, but it is for the MX5. Second, is there a wireless kit for watching YouTube or videos?
