I have faced the same issue; multiple instances where I had to press the button more than once. Since I don't take the key out of my pocket, I wasn't sure if I was imagining things. Also agreed that the range seems pretty low.

Yes I have seen some videos too. The way they are doing it is not by unlocking the switch. As the fog lamp indicator on MID instrument cluster is not glowing up when they switch on the fog lamp.

In one of the videos, the guy says that you need to take one of the fog lamp wire inside to the switch lever. If it was fog lamp switch unlock then there would have been no need to take any additional wiring into the cabin.

In the case of 3XO, software fog lamp unlock gets the indicator on MID instrument cluster to glow and there is no need of any wiring into the cabin.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Happy New year to everyone!

I am hoping a ramp up in production and quite a few deliveries in Jan'25.
I am myself slotted for Feb-Mar'25 delivery, although SA offered me a black MX3 instead of white, but I refused (I get raised eyebrows whenever I am drawn into such scenarios, moreover I wanted Carplay and accessories situations to be ironed out before I rush into a deal). Probably we'll see more people getting fed-up with Mahindra's lethargic delivery schedule, benefitting more ardent takers. So probably win-win situation until someone in Mahindra decides to play with pricing numbers.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Can any of the Roxx owners please provide some photos of the interior lighting at night? I'm curious to see how well the cabin lights up, with the cabin lamp and footwell lights on.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Has anyone considered getting wheel spacers? They enhance the appeal of the car, though it is subjective. I want to know if there’s anything I should know before getting them and if there are any cons?

Avoid wheel spacers. You could easily run into issues with safety and/or premature wear/tear of components. There are tons of opinions and research (arguing for in some cases) online, but I think you will realize once you do your own research that it is best to avoid wheel spacers.

If you are trying to get the wheels to stick out a bit (be it for cosmetics or for something functional like needing additional wheel clearance or getting the right alignment etc. after installing a lift kit), you are better off going with a negative offset wheel (costly obviously, but safer).

Bottom line: If you must, go with negative offset wheels and not wheel spacers.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

So my fav accessory for my ROXX is a keyfob cover

Everytime I pickup my key it actually makes me feel that I am driving a car 4x the price. The keyfob actually has a lot of heft now but I like it.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I visited Kibithu last week, the easternmost motorable point of India. The road conditions were harsh with nearly 70% of the route under construction t which tested the driver and the vehicle. The Thar Roxx, with its sturdy build and capable suspension, managed the challenging stretches with ease. The automatic transmission made gear shifts seamless, especially around 2000 RPM, ensuring a smooth driving experience even on challenging inclines. Hairpin bends were conquered effortlessly, with the vehicle maintaining remarkable stability. Despite the demanding terrain, the cabin remained quiet with no noticeable NVH levels, offering a comfortable journey throughout.
On reaching Kibithu felt surreal. At an altitude of over 1400 m, the small border village offered panoramic views of the Lohit River flowing gracefully. taking a detour I reached Kaho, India's easternmost village with only 14 families residing in this remote settlement, the village reflects simplicity and authenticity. The village is home to the Meyor tribe, an indigenous community known for their warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage.
Coming to the vehicle, from steady climbs and smooth gear shifts to the impressive mileage and cabin comfort, the Thar Roxx showcased unmatched performance throughout the journey. The option of having 4*4 provided confidence on steep inclines and rough tracks, and the automatic gearbox performed seamlessly without lag. The suspension absorbed bumps and potholes effortlessly, making the drive far less taxing than expected.
However, one area where the experience could have been better was the lumbar support. On long stretches, the seats didn't provide the ideal comfort, and I found myself adjusting every now and then to ease the strain on my lower back. The round trip covered approximately 800 kilometers with a real tank to tank mileage of 12 kmpl.

Congratulations on your Roxx! I hope you have a fantastic year with it. Did you book it online or offline? Was it delivered on time? Also, did you notice any changes to the website booking page?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Finally brought home the beast – Thar Roxx 4WD AT variant!

The process was slightly delayed due to issues with my local bank, where I already have a home loan. They wasted an entire week over a 30% loan amount. Switched to ICICI, and the loan was disbursed in just 5 minutes!

After being out of town for two weeks, I finally collected the car today. It was a surprise for my family, and they absolutely loved it.
While the vehicle is fantastic, I have to say the audio quality isn't great – the Safari is leagues ahead in that department.

Does anyone know how to use the DVR/360-degree cameras as a dashcam? Also, where should the SD card be inserted?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I have made a booking 5 days back in Kerala for the Thar roxx RWD AX7L AT in Nebula blue, I got the booking confirmation but no expected delivery date and on the Mahindra app it says Status- N/A. Is this normal protocol after booking the Roxx ? Everyone seems to have got an expected delivery date, The SA seems clueless !
