Chandigarh dealer has ready stock of all 5 & 7 variants, making me think 5D Thar waiting isn't going to be that long as being projected online.

Atleast not for White interiors.

What's your opinion about these steel wheels? I can probably fit BF -KO2 - 18 inches that I have. A set of 5 is available for around 60K. It's no make but good quality China/ Taiwan per the seller.
Congratulations! I love the Roxx in white.

What is your objective with tyre change? If it is comfort, get a set of 18" similar size tyres and alloy wheels. Go for BF and all only if you want to do more serious off-roading, they are NOT built for road! Will make the ride noisy and hard, and additional weights make the brake vague. Same for steel rims, they are good only for the show and heavy offroad use. My suggestion get a set of nice alloys and 18" all season tyres, at best go for Geolander series which is a good compromise with comfort and offroad grip and looks.

Congratulations

My suggestion is to keep it as is, do not spend any money on it other than fuel, drive it around for sometime and see if you want to make any modifications.

Sometimes what happens is that the vehicle which we think is going to be used occasionally end up being our daily driver, so the mods start to come in the way of everyday use. 2 door Thar owners have realized this rather painfully that the vehicle have often ended up being the most used vehicle in their garage, not nice to wear out expensive offroad tyres going to Gym everyday

According to the video, only up-to 32GB cards can be added. That is woefully less and we have to manually record the videos from what I understand. I think a dual-channel dashcam would still be needed for continuous recording.

Congratulations on the Roxx! I am a sucker for tasteful implementation of ambient lighting. Would you share some pics?

Also did you try driving it at night. How is the performance of headlights? I believe it does not get the booster lights as well as cornering headlamps function of XUV7oo. Any idea how the lights are in comparison to those on XUV?

Now when I download the brochure from website, the AX5L DAT 2WD has a 128.6kW/370Nm Engine, (the higher tuned engine is on both on 2WD and 4WD on AX5L). See below screen shot of both:

Am I understanding this wrongly or the documents really has an error?

Both AX5L and AX7L D AT RWD get the higher state of tune as well. Same as the 4x4. The most recent spec-sheet, brochure and the configurator at the time of booking online all reflect the same thing.

The same has been confirmed by two separate dealers i have a booking with for a AX7L D AT RWD.

TL;DR
All D MTs get the lower state of tune (both 2WD and 4x4).
All MX D AT variants get lower state of tune (only 2WD, no 4x4 on MX AT)
All AX D AT variants get highest state of tune (both 2WD and 4x4).

Thanks. This is really good information.

In this case the AX5 L D AT feels a good value for money proposition along with the MX3 P AT variant. I have booking for both from the two dealers in Kochi.

But the waiting period of six months to one year is really killing the enthusiasm, to the extent that sometimes I feel cancelling both and going for something readily available.

I feel the same as well. I was strongly inclined towards AX5L D AT for my booking.

Only significant upgrades in the AX7 over the AX5 are the 360* Cam, Ventilated seats, Electric seat, auto-fold ORVM, panoramic sunroof and soft-touch leather on dashboard and the doors. And the 19-inch alloys.

After experiencing the 360* cam in the Seltos, all other implementations have felt like garbage. Mahindra's 360* cam that i have in my XUV700 is EXTREMLEY laggy. Makes the blind-spot view feature that I use the most useless. The vehicle has passed me in irl while it is still visible on the screen.

Ventilated seats are okay. Good to have but wont miss them. Same for sunroof. Good to have but will not be missed.

I actually prefer the 18 inch alloys of the AX5 more. I like the simpler design and the higher side profile means better ride.

But Electric driver seat and soft-touch interior are VERY IMP for me. Have been spoiled by our Seltos, Tucson and XUV. If i am spending 20+ lakhs on a car, then these two are a pre-requisite. You may get tired of or forget all other features after a year or two, but these 2 features are something you will experience everyday and will make you feel good for the entire duration of your ownership.

Had these 2 been offered on the AX5L, i would have chosen it without a second thought. But a price bump of 1.5 lakh for:

1) a panaromic sunroof
2) 360* cam
3) ventilated seats
4) electric adjust
5) soft touch upholstery

This seems justifiable to my mind. I would think that a panoramic sunroof and 360* cam are combined worth more than 1 lakh. Everything else for the remainder 50k seems like a deal if you think of it that way. Thrown in a set of more premium looking wheels? Sure, why not.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi all, for people who are taking Mahindra Sun Blinds for Roxx, please note that they are being sold as magnetic blinds, but they become loose from the bottom and pop out, making it look really ugly. I had spoken to the dealer and taken my car back to them today, they put retainers on the door panel to hold the sun blinds firmly, similar to what they do in XUV. Just thought will share with the group.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi folks, how long after online booking does one see any Estimated Delivery Date?

I booked a Mocha Interior AX7 last week but don't have any date mentioned online yet.

So far, nothing of that sort for roxx bookings. It’s being communicated via phone calls / texts

Are these part of the official Mahindra accessories? Is there anything else that's worth getting other than the mud flaps?
The irony is, even as we are hearing that dealers are unethically pushing customers to mandatorily purchase accessories, nothing is really worth or of good quality. The mud flaps are a necessity and even that has not been designed properly and sticks-out as a poor fit. I wouldn't be hesitant to tell the dealers I need nothing other than the mud flaps and even that as there is no other known option! Likewise with insurance, if they are willing to match external reasonable quote, fine, else, it will be bought from outside - if the dealer is unwilling to sell the car and if Mahindra is a deaf ear to these unethical practices from its dealers, I am totally fine to cancel my booking. More and more sensible buyers should follow the same approach to cut-off this dealer behaviour before it becomes an authoritative norm that buyers have to comply with.

BTW, did you get your MX3 P AT yet?

Thanks for this feedback. Made a quick phone call and found out. The waiver signed was for 'Apple Car Play' which the guy carrying the paper addressed wrongly and Adrenox will be activated in a day or so

On mine too I am able to change manually the equaliser. However the 'Presets' are not available. The functionality is there in the system, it's obscured by a bug. I'm sure they will solve it with an update

. Also, momentarily, I could see the setting for the listening position - Driver focused or for all occupants. Could not find it again-
It comes on only if you choose studio or quantum surround, also it resets every time you start vehicle you have to go back to settings to choose ambience again
