• Did you feel under thigh support lacking a lot in front seats for your 300 km journey as the seat base is less?
• How have the white seats fared in your ownership experience so far?

A mini review

Will straight away go to the pros and cons
Pros
1. Comfortable Rear Seat (relative)
2. Huge road presence and an attention magnet
3. Eats up broken roads like nothing
4. Very refined and powerful petrol engine pulls in any gear
5. Good headlights and cornering functions works well too.
6. Gave an average fuel economy of 11kmpl on the MID which is not bad for a petrol suv (highway runs+ city) { But I think it might be around 7-8 kmpl }
7. Suspension plays a major role in the comfort of the car, feels planted at triple digit speed no issues at all.
8. Boot space is huge
9. Rear view mirrors are huggge and help with visibility a lot.
10. Glass area is large and gives a commanding view.
11. 10/10 steering. Very light and comfortable.
12. No 1st lot niggles till now (1400kms done)
13. Feels very premium and upmarket with the interior and lights.
14. MX5 alloys > AX7L alloys ( both comfort and look wise)
15. Frameless auto~dimming mirror looks very cool

Cons
1. Missing folding mirrors in mx5
2. 3/10 stereo sound quality
3. Small fuel tank for a big and thirsty suv (50L)
4. Brake pedal is a little stiff and clutch is on a heavier side.
5. White seats
6. Sounds like a plane taking off while going above 90/100 wind noise in quite audible.
7. I am a fit 5’10 guy in my 20s and my back started hurting after driving for 7/8 hours (maybe some health issue but never experienced this in any other car and I am a frequent driver)

Will take the car for the first check up tommorow (1000kms as suggested by them)


Overall a good product by mahindra.

BUT and in my personal opinion , for solely highway cruising people who are just looking for the drive comfort dont go for ROXX go for something monocoque.
PEOPLE looking at the car as the “one car” for their garage need to be very thorough and head strong on their choice and make a decision (especially petrol owners… it drinks bro and small tank gives 270-300 range only)

Its good on looks and presence but loses points else where but this is what heart over head does.
Still love it to the core.

Also on a side note I tried replicating that famous instagram reel of the car juddering in reverse.
It felt to me like the TCS or ABS was cutting power to grab traction but it didnt jump no where as badly as it did in the video.

I don't think there should be that big a difference between actual FE and figures shown on MID.
I had Thar 3D and my estimates are that there is difference of not more than 0.5 to 1.5 kmpl between real figures and MID.

I have the Thar 3 door. Wind noise is a direct result of the boxy shape of the car. With the almost vertical windshield, the aerodynamic resistance offered by the car at higher speeds is extremely high. Plus, you have the huge ORVMs which are also huge like elephant's ears. The focus is entirely on the aesthetic of a big tough Jeep, than on aerodynamics. Acoustic windshield or not, the noise is going to get in at higher speeds. This shape is also what gives the car the low FE.

But then, we do not buy Thars for fuel efficiency or for a quiet high speed ride

Hi @CARbun, could you please compare the wind noise with your other ride ? I believe, Roxx has excellent NVH levels, so is this the case that in the absence of other noises at lower speeds,it is calm and serene but higher speeds, wind noise becomes very prominent ?

I'm not worried about FE and in fact I would have booked Roxx Petrol if 4x4 was available, for better refinement. I'm fine with some wind noise at 100kmph, hopefully it is not that bothersome for short durations at higher speeds.

The car is well insulated and keeps the outside noise locked out only. I'll elaborate my point , when you go to 90/100+ co-passengers will know. I mean it is literally a moving brick and has a flat windscreen so the wind slaps. When driving with music on and chatting along the noise is not at all noticeable but still the sense of speed still gets the passengers which I did not experience in my other cars. Partly it could be due to the rear passengers sit higher than the front ones and also the aerodynamics, but other than than the wind noise at high speeds the car had no road , floor or any type of noise crawl in.

1. What is the exact make, model of this alloy?
2. I assume you drove the car with the OEM steel rims for some time before you swapped them out to the new alloys. What has been the impact to the ride quality before and after?
3. If you bought only 4 alloys, does this mean your spare tyre is still on steel rims and since it is covered by the plastic part, it is not seen much and hence the decision to leave it as-is?
4. With any alloys that push the tyre out of the wheel-well, I am a bit concerned about its impact to ride quality, suspension, etc. Besides, as someone else has also asked, does this mean mud / slush from the tyres splatter more on to the car body?

As I am aware they have kept that feature on hold for the time being. Not sure for how long & for what reasons they did it.

PS: I think you missed what TeamBHP wrote Wind noise does start at 90 ish and will go up further at 120. The metal roof is much better compared to the 3-door fibre one in keeping the sound at a much bearable level, and some low volume music from the sound system will take care of this to a good extent. But mind you we drove the top end which has better noise insulating windshield and noise cancellation via audio.

Infact there is a post on X that also says that the vehicle was called back to the dealership and is actually an issue. Don't know how reliable the information is though.
