For those who are worried about mud splash from front wheel arches, the solution is official mudflaps which prevents the issue. Attaching picture from Official accessories brochure.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

An interesting update.
I got multiple booking emails from my Mahindra Dealer and all of them had a different OTF number and different model and different colours which left me perplexed as I only made one online booking.

On reading those emails carefully and further recalling my memory those were all the models which I changed in my PREFERENCE (add to cart) when that option opened after the launch.
I was changing my model choice as I got to know about the price and specifications and turns out each and every preference saved has its own booking.
Even though I have made only one payment I have 5 different OTF numbers and bookings kn my name and number.
Had a long call with the dealer head and they had it sorted and finally got the email with my prefered varient and the matching transaction ID.
I think the 1.7 L number of booking was made up from scenarios like these only and now they are collating and sorting the bookings till the 26th when they tell about the delivery times.
I am amazed to see how simple yet messed up the booking system is.

Yes, this booking system is botched up but do you guys also feel that the booking amount for a 20-25 lakh rupee vehicle should be close to 1 lakh. 21000 as the booking amount is a joke in my opinion.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I would tend to agree the booking amount should be increased to ensure only those who are serious with their purchase intentions come forward to book it. This is a mechanism that is already in use widely and since long.

What is occurring to me as something really unacceptable and where Mahindra should step-in and correct with a sense of urgency is the dealer offering the Roxx readily to those buyers who are willing to pay for 50K worth accessories and additional warranty for another 50K. I have first hand spoken to a dealer who is ready to give me the vehicle subject to me complying with this. This is an unethical practice that should be stopped by the OEM who controls the authorized dealers. Further, this is disrespectful and unfair to the people who have booked and are waiting in a sequence - if the vehicle will be given to anyone who has free cash to throw, others who have diligently booked and waiting will forever remain waiting or wait longer. Is Mahindra oblivious to this? I bet not and in which case what are they doing about it?

Its not just the booking system. But after 2 full months of launch and bringing out so many cars for media drives and dealership showrooms, there are hardly any deliveries other than some relatively non complex variants (MX5s) that too just to meet the symbolic delivery date. Gives me a feeling, the product wasn't production ready, but lets wait and watch. They surely aren't inspiring confidence.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I had booked AX7L D AT 4x4 online within the first one/two minutes of opening of bookings.

Got a call today morning that the car is billed and will reach showroom in 4-5 days. Anyone else with top model booking got call today?

What variant is this? Are you dealing with Dee Emm or Koncept?

When you say billed, does it mean, buying it as individual/company is locked? I booked it using my PAN but intend to take it under corporate car lease. Will this be allowed (at dealer's end) or will I need to book it again using company PAN :(.

Any inputs from folks here would be really appreciated!

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

They have surely not through this entire experience / journey. There are many gaps. I had an old 3D Thar booking which I asked the dealer to convert to 5D. I already own a 3D Thar.
The dealer goofed or on purpose didn't log my booking until 4th OCT evening, and that too did it on my wife's number instead of mine citing some lame reason.

Now when I log in to mahindra's portal using my number the booking is not there and the login fails if I try my wife's number. I suspect they have used my email id and 2 different numbers so the system is confused & throwing some backend error. But I do have mail confirmation of the booking.

Some time back today the dealer team called asking to confirm the model on my wife's number. And infact asked if we have paid the booking amount or not! I had to tell the dealer team that you already have the amount with you since an year now.

I think the 1.76L booking is clearly goofed up. I suspect actual serious booking around 60-70K and another non-serious booking of 20K.

Also hope they fix the ridiculous 'white interiors' by Jan-Feb & other 'Mahindra kinks'

I would rather prefer a product succeed slowly through word of mouth & actual usage vs overpromise & under deliver.

Based on my conversations with the SA so far, "billed" seems to refer to the allocation of a vehicle against a booking. I have no idea how Mahindra is handling dealership bookings versus online portal bookings, but at the end of the day, vehicles are billed to the dealership when they are allocated.

Apparently, there is a lack of transparency, and online booking seems to be a mechanism to create the perception that the vehicle is in high demand. I’m sure this will settle down in 4–6 months.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Has anyone got their refund back for amount that were deducted but payment status failed on 3rd October?

I just noticed that my booking disappeared from https://auto.mahindra.com/myaccount/view-all-bookings. I have sent email to bookingsupport and waiting for reply from them. The assigned SA mentioned in booking docket as usual is not picking the call.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I had made the booking via the dealer on the opening (AX7L D MT 4WD). Had gotten booking number 10002xxx and confirmation over email and all

Although there has been no information or update from the dealer on this. In the meanwhile ANOTHER booking was added to my credentials on its own. Bearing booking number 10154xx1 on the 11th of October

So I have one booking in the 2 thousands and 1 in the 1.5 lakh range now

Earlier the new booking was showing for a different variant and colour (AX7L D MT RWD White). Now both are showing the same variant and colour after I asked the dealer about this

It feels like déjà vu—Mahindra's launches tend to follow a familiar pattern. There's always an initial frenzy among customers, followed by confusion over bookings. Soon after, the first owners start reporting issues, usually related to electronics, cabin noises they can't quite pinpoint, or grinding sounds.

To their credit, Mahindra does listen to feedback and begins addressing these issues by the second batch, gradually ironing out the kinks and delivering the refinement the vehicle should’ve had from the start.

I've been a fan of Mahindra since the XUV500 launch (say what you will now, but the frenzy back then was real). However, I’ve moved past the fanboy phase and now hope for Mahindra to truly rival global players like the Japanese and Koreans.

With the upcoming deliveries of the Thar Roxx, I really hope Mahindra proves me wrong and releases a vehicle with minimal issues.
It will succeed through word-of-mouth, no doubt.

Reasons? Mahindra's engines—both diesel and petrol—are powerful, refined, and versatile. The design is classic, and Mahindra has been building rugged, tough SUVs long before the SUV craze hit.

So, if there's a delay on their end, I believe it's for a good reason. The longer you wait, the better the car will be!
