Should not take more than 3-4 days - in my case it was billed on 24th March and the car was in Agra on 26th and with me on 27th. The barcodes on the front bumper had a date of 22nd March on it so the time line was pretty unbelievable.

Mods and updates Thar Roxx AX5L 4x4 Auto

Today received the car after the alloys painting and dechroming of badges. The 18” alloys which came in the AX5L were too shiny to my liking. All the alloys including the newly installed spare tyre alloy were painted in gun metal color.

The ‘Thar Roxx’ and ‘4x4’ badges were dechromed in matt black. Now I have completed all the updates and mods planned in my Roxx. Hope to keep the car for at least 5 years.

Below are the list of works done with prices.

Graphene coating – 28,000

Sun film SOLARSHIELD Teal 70 front & Sable 50 on sides – 24,000

Spare tyre steel wheel and cover replaced with original Roxx 18” alloy including mounting bracket from Mahindra – 19,550

Seat covers, covering the dirt prone white leatherette seats, similar color and stitching from Wellfit – 15725

Replaced Mahindra original paper cone speakers and tweeters with Harmon infinity Speakers Component with tweeters in front + Coaxial on back (No amp or subwoofer, to avoid future warranty related issues) – 17,240

All 5 alloys painting in gunmetal, and badges in matt black – 15500

Tail light cover from Mahindra – 1700

Total spending for above after delivery – 1,21,715

All above were done remotely, still not seen the car in person after the mods. Some pictures taken by the person who collected the car..

That's unfortunate! I have seen this problem of small debris damaging the windshield at least in one more post on this thread. There is another Youtuber who has reported this issue.
Wondering whether this is just happenstance or 3-door Thar owners have also faced this due to the vehicle's boxy design.
Are there any "tempered glass for windshield" solutions?

We booked our AX7 4WD (Forest Green, Mocha interiors) on Diwali day from NBS Mahindra, Marine Drive, Mumbai. Apart from the bill receipt which came after a few days, no other communication was received from Mahindra. So a few days back, I called the helpline and they were not able to give the details online. The car is booked in my wife's name, so they said they'll call back with the details. That's still pending from Mahindra's end.

In the meanwhile, the dealership gave us the status of July 2026. So I checked about changing the interior colours to the new Mocha Grey one, but no joy since they wanted us to cancel and book again.

So we started checking with other dealerships. Surprise, surprise!

Ready delivery is available for any colour with Mocha interiors for AX 7L 4WD. Only if we are willing to pay 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh extra. This is clearly Mahindra allowing its dealers to scalp customers by creating an artificial production backlog.

While there is a wait for AX7L 4WD, there are quite a few cancellations and those vehicles are readily available without any additional 'premium' if finances can be managed within a day or two. For those who call and check every week, am sure gauging the interest level, advisor from dealership will try to put a premium using reason of waiting period. What might instead work is just to tell them you will take immediate delivery of same variant vehicle as available, and you have funds ready for full payment.

On a different note- had to reconnect the battery to get Adrenox to work. (2nd time in 2 months).

Nice list. I would also need to go to wellfit one day to get the same seat covers.

Regarding the speakers, how did you mount the tweeters? is it in the stock location (above the head) or have they been placed in a more friendly location?

Yes, The speakers were installed in the same location above the head. I did not want to look after marketish with tweeters. Even the seat covers, I would normally not put in , however this was forced especially because the dress colors started getting into the seats and it was too much scrubbing required to remove. Sooner or later you will have to do it any way, so better to do before the original seats are not permanently stained.

I got these 7D mats for 6,700. Fitting looks good, no obstruction in accelerator or brake pedals. Color is Coffee with Golden in Ultra Premium.
