TIA.
The Torque on the bolts doesn't really depend on the rim dia. However, its a good idea to have a cordless impact wrench. And more convenient too, if you can manage to package the same in a seamless way.

Both of these for added convenience. The OEM stuff should do the job well nevertheless.

I'm planning on buying GFX mats. Everyone is saying positive things about them. How is your experience? I found a few links for ROXX Accessories. Anyone, let me know if the links are good. I am never aware of them.

I am using GFX mats in Roxx. It is pretty good. Perfect fit and covers the edges well.

Also , how good is the jack which Mahindra has provided? It’s a heavy car and maybe an inflatable jack would be more appropriate.

TIA.
Purchase a breaker bar or a metal tube as an extension of the wrench. Keeping an impact wrench with batteries inside the vehicle maybe a bit wasteful.

Purchase a spiral jack of Mahindra if your vehicle is having a scissor jack. The spiral jack is really well made. Its exactly like the Toyota Jack which we used to use in college hostel for workouts , someone's uncle from the 'Gelf' had brought one. Also keep a piece of wooden plank if needed on soft/loose surface.

What needs effort is lifting the punctured tire and mounting it on the tailgate, I simply cannot do it anymore.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi, please help me decide.

I am confused between the Thar Roxx MX5 RWD (Manual Diesel) and the Alcazar Platinum 7-seater (Manual Diesel). I am in love with both cars and have done test drives. I’m not able to decide. While my heart says Roxx, I am not fully confident due to the tech issues, ride comfort for family, Mahindra service, etc.

The mind says Alcazar as it is a smooth drive and a good car. The Hyundai tech, ride comfort, service, and fuel efficiency attract me there. However, the safety and road presence issues are there. I also feel it’s slightly overpriced and might be under powered.

I plan to own the vehicle for a long period, usually for trips with family and friends. I am a very cautious driver who drives with a lot of patience. I prefer to enjoy driving rather than rushing or speeding. I am not at all interested in the XUV or Scorpio. Please help me decide!

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Thanks everyone. I am afraid of lifting the tyre onto the tailgate.

A plank is an essential item if one is going off roading. I have found it to be very useful indeed.

I might get the battery driven thingy later, once I get delivery in July.

The 1950 Chevy my grandfather had used to have a hydraulic jack. It was very very easy to use.

Getting in and out of the Roxx- once the test drive novelty wears off, is really a hassle. Check how comfortable your family is with this.

Roxx is quite refined, so not a worry wrt Alcazar. Missing the request sensor on the Roxx. However touch and feel of surfaces on the Alcazar would be slightly better. Alcazar diesel will be 25% more fuel efficient than Roxx diesel. I have driven 600kms+ non stop one way (5 pax + boot loaded to the brim) on the Roxx, absolutely loved the comfort, drive quality and refinement. Also- the large sunroof on the Roxx really makes the car feel airy/spacious. My first Mahindra, was dreading how the service would be, turned out absolutely great. (Might depend on the service center, with Hyundai being more consistent).

For fuel economy, ride quality and passengers' comfort - Roxx is definitely not the best choice. Especially ride and seating comfort. My old Duster is much better. And obviously, any monocoque would be better than Roxx. For a comparison - Scorpio-N's seats are far better, and XUV700 seats are at a completely different level. Roxx basically has the same old Thar seats in the front.

If your trips have a significant travel over not-so-good roads, a robust car like Thar or Scorpio-N makes good sense.

Regarding Mahindra's service - it might not be at par with rest, but it is bound to get better every year, given the revenue and interest they are garnering continuously.

Just a bit curious about why you said you aren't interested in XUV700 and Scorpio-N, and prefer Thar Roxx and Alcazar over them.

As per Mr. Cyrus Dhabhar, the request sensor is one of the features that have been recently added. The only way to be certain of it is to wait for either end of March or April 2025 manufactured Roxx IMHO. Additionally, M&M has yet to update their brochure for the interior colour scheme (Mocha Grey).

The process is pretty straight forward, I hope this helps.
I cancelled. I got an email, and it shows cancellation initiated. Been 2+ weeks. Do we have to do any further process to get the refund back into the original method of payment?

Send a mail to BOOKINGSUPPORT@mahindra.com with details, usually they expedite.

Lot of good points made, but this is absolutely incorrect.

I know opinions differ etc., but I doubt anyone who has experienced the seats of both the cars will make this statement in such a definitive tone.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Need Advice,
The dealer has emailed me that the car is alloted to me and it will reach the stockyard by 29th of march. There is bank holiday on 30th and 31st. If the pdi delays in that case should i make full balance payment on 29th to avoid price hike?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Do the PDI first, then make the payment. I will do the same; my car was allotted on March 20th and reached the stockyard on the 26th. Today, I will go for the PDI, and then I will ask my bank to disburse the payment. I have checked with my SA; he said that until the first week of April, there might not be any hike.

Yes as confirmed by other members GFX mats are good and I also ordered number plate frame of GFX from zapcart for 250/- and very satisfied with the quality. Showroom folks are charging 500 and quality is also

P.s. finally, 45 days later and with a lot of back and forth, Himadri with BH number plates
