Congratulations, man! It's great to hear that many deliveries of Everest White are happening. Glad to see you got your vehicle on the expected delivery date! I hope to get mine soon as well—I’ve booked the same color and model.

Just to clarify - does this mean that a dashcam is not required in variants with the 360-degree cameras and that they are recording all the time?

Yes, if you add a SD card and enable it from the menu.
Emergency videos are recorded by default when SD card is added.

Got it. When you say emergency video, is it IMU based (does it record say on hard braking only or something of the sort), or does it just record and store videos continuously like a regular dashcam? Does it also record on all cameras all the time? I'm trying to gauge whether:

a. Installing a separate dashcam is required / will offer any advantage
b. How much SD storage is required ideally.

This same feature is available in the xuv700, but the recording is fisheye and not very clear. You can add a separate dashcam for parking surveillance or to record road trips also difficult to share a video If using the 360 as a dashcam, you can add an SSD, but 32 GB is very little.

Please check how to install ssd for xuv700 i think it should be same for roxx but you cannot do it by yourself

The DVR will work only if the ignition is in “ON” position.
Dash Cam can be used for Parking Surveillance+Driving as well.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

The Dyno test in below YouTube video shows that the AX7L D AT RWD gets an output of 146 BHP only. I am assuming this is against Mahindra's claimed power of 150HP for its diesel engines of the RWD variants .

This might prove that for the diesel only the 4WD gets the higher output of 172BHP and the RWD has a 150BHP engine tune for all the variants including the AX5L & AX7L.

In any case, I don't think you can feel this difference in real world driving, also due to the fact that the 4WD is around 150kgs heavier than the RWD.

Nope this is absolutely wrong the AX5L and AX7L Diesel AT RWD gets 172 HP engines.

Yes, you can feel the difference if you drive the 150 HP (330 Nm) diesel manual vs 172 HP (370 Nm) diesel AT.

Dyno tests measures the power at wheels and the manufacturers power figures are at the crank and the video clearly stated a power loss of ~14% this happens to almost all cars since dyno calculates the power output on the wheels.

Also the AX7L Diesel manual 4x4 also gets 150 HP only the AX5/7L Diesel AT RWD/4x4 gets the 172 HP in Diesel.

If you are trying to get the wheels to stick out a bit (be it for cosmetics or for something functional like needing additional wheel clearance or getting the right alignment etc. after installing a lift kit), you are better off going with a negative offset wheel (costly obviously, but safer).

Bottom line: If you must, go with negative offset wheels and not wheel spacers.
Those are two very contrasting opinions. I didn't find any specific cons related to spacers in context of Thar, especially since it's such a common mod for this vehicle. Can I get some more insights regarding this?

Also, is there any update on Apple Carplay for AX7L?

32gb is said to be used, but I will be trying a 64gb.
A demo will be provided to me tomorrow of all features and gadgets, will be able to answer in detail then.

Yes, it seems to be a common modification. You might have run into Maruti 800s running wheel spacers. It does have its downsides, especially when it comes to safety and potentially warranty.

For some quick insights, refer to
(from 3.30 minute mark till about 5.24 minute mark).

You can also refer to articles like this - https://suspensionsecrets.co.uk/why-...heels-spacers/.

I am sure that you will find quite a bit of literature if you invest a bit of time.

At the end of the day, it is your call. If you are doing this purely for aesthetic purposes and cost is a bigger consideration than compromise to safety and vehicle dynamics, then wheel spacers is the easiest and cheapest way of getting there. All the best.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hey @laks
Car looks really awesome from this angle.
Couple of questions if you can answer.
1. How has been driving experience so far. (comfort, body roll, ease of drivability, engine power etc)
2. Did you face any delay in acceleration in the initial gears, as reported by few of petrol auto users.
3. What mods or coat done so far in this MX3 variant. Pls share price range as well.
4. Any other interesting thing about this variant which you might want to share.

For the same model my delivery timeline is 12 Jan onwards.
