Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Thank you. So reassuring to see you report decent fuel efficiency figures for a car of this size and engine capacity. I noted the engine is buttery smooth. How about the following please?
1. Engine Power (considering this variant is offered at the highest state of tune)
2. Body roll and ride quality
3. Breaking given this comes with all 4 discs

1. I didn't push the car too much BUT in Zip Mode when it goes from 30-50 there is a noticeable lag / rubberband effect which isn't there in 3D Thar. Maybe change of mode will fix it. Other than this, it's wonderful

2. Compared to Creta it's 19-20 (unnis bees) ka difference on smooth road. 17-20 on broken road - But then huh GC also adds confidence to take this car anywhere. If you were somewhat okay with the ride in 3D Thar you will LOVE this

3. It took me a couple of days to adjust to a much sharper bite because of all discs but now I absolutely love the confidence it provides. If you're coming from 3D Thar the breaking performance will come as a very positive shock

Has any one of you bought a parcel trey from Mahindra for your Roxx? Is it worth the price?

Love the Bumper, Spacers are also Good but Bullhorn branding looks eye sore. As if carrying Bullhorn Advert across the town. This is my opinion, yours and others may differ.

----

Has any Mocha owner received any updated, I know they aid Jan end onwards but still I hope to get some teasers or something to keep the excitement going.

----

I had one observation regarding G Wagon style Roof Lights rear ; why aren’t they removing the Fiber cladding and then running the wire through it instead of the glass.

----

Also what is the Stand on the Wrangler Bumper and others; does the Police stop for it or they allow the same.

I am situated in Chandigarh and my Wife would also be driving it hence I would prefer it to be hassle free.

Aftermarket things I have planned.
1) Dashcam - I do not trust OEM provided ones rather any connect car Tech, either this or Adrenox or Tata’s iRA. especially with the new Driver Detection system show cased in Be.6e and sibling I feel is intrusion of privacy which even the Govt can ask for as and when needed. I don’t trust office laptop Webcam and I am in IT.
2) Tyre upsize, without changing the Alloys OEM 18” look good. Personally 19” I don’t like.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hello, I have booked AX7L P AT today via local dealer in Thane. He has quoted standard timeline of 72 weeks for delivery. Any idea on actual waiting period for petrol variants? Secondly, any chance to get Mocha interiors as option in 2025 batches?

I don’t think the Mocha interiors would come in the non 4X4 variants.
I had booked a month ago, in the form they had written the TDD as 72 weeks itself, that’s the standard timeline communication from M&M.

Recently, a friend of mine got himself a Hilux with 13L discount & now am in a bit of a dilemma to go for Roxx or Hilux.

If you can manage that kind of discount, then Hilux all the way

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Took delivery of A7XL Petrol AT Battleship Grey
Booked: Oct 3, 11:01 AM
Estimated Delivery: Nov 15-Dec 15
Actual Delivery: Dec 1
Chandigarh
Insurance: Tata AIG: 3YR TP + 1 OD: 54K (3+3 option was around 105K)
Accessories:
- Parcel Tray
- 3D Designer Mats (4k)
- Mud flaps
- Aluminum Door Sils
- Metal Accents for Pedals

Installed the VIOFO A229 Plus Dashcam:
- Powered using the USB port up front
- Wiring is easy to run through the panels
- Installed rear camera on the side instead of middle (better FOV)

- 3M Foaming Car interior is supposed to be your best friend to remove stains from the white interiors
- Petrol engine is absolutely brilliant, minimal noise and vibrations, much more responsive and refined than the earlier version. I was considering Diesel before, but after driving the Petrol, it is definitely the more fun version.
- I haven't driven it a whole lot to confirm FE, will update soon.

I said the same thing to the dealer who I got it from, he said once the market is flooded with accessories non-branded space covers will become available. So, I am hoping that happens.

I do not know about the legality of the bumper but since this is a pretty common mod among Thar owners, I am willing to take the chance.

I am facing a new issue, when I try to engage Adaptive Cruise Control it says 'adaptive cruise control condition not met'. Does anyone know what could be the reason? I am just hoping that it's not the bumper otherwise it's money down the drain but I seriously doubt how a bumper change could be causing that. Other ADAS suite features (lane assist, AEB) are working as intended and there is no warning or alert in the car. I used it last before the bumper swap and it was working, since then only other major event I can remember is that the car's battery was drained while the bumper was being swapped but one jump start and I was on my way.

I called the tech guy in the Mahindra service center but he just told me to restart the car after a break and see if it did anything and it did not, I couldn't do any other troubleshooting since I was traveling.

Had the Azad 4X4 metal bumper on 3D Thar in Chandigarh and never got stopped for it. But I have seen cars being stopped for wheels with spacers. Chandigarh registered cars not likely to be stopped though.

This is due to the bumper as there is a Radar module. I was in touch with Proman Faridabad and they told me to wait. You will need to revert back to OE if you need that functionality. This is what Proman has but not for AX7 at this time-

I am in touch with Bullhorn Instagram page as well, he is saying that ACC is working fine in his AX5L. I am confused regarding what should I do now. This is a considerable amount for me to just forget and my mind will not let me make peace with a feature not working even if I was not going to use it much.

Is it only me or others also feel it that way .. seems wheels are tilted inside from top. If so, then even a slight tilt will wear them off fairly quickly.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi Fellow BHPians,

This is my first post and I have some dilemma’s would love to seek your advice on.

As a quick background I have booked 2 AX7L D AT vehicles, one with a dealer in Gurgaon in Stealth Black and the second one is a booked in White with the dealer in Chandigarh. Initially had thought of buying my vehicle on company car lease but have somehow dropped the thought due to uncertainty of the Direct Tax Code and now will be going ahead with registering the Car in Chandigarh.
The delivery of the vehicle booked in Gurgaon is scheduled between 24-12-24 to 23-01-25 and the one booked from Chandigarh is scheduled to be delivered in May-25.

Now here are some of the conflicting thoughts I have and would love to hear your view on them:

1. Considering if I go ahead with the delivery from Gurgaon, in the given timelines I am assuming I will only be delivered an MY-24 vehicle, while i would definitely prefer an MY-25. In this case what are my options?

2. Of what i understand I will have to pay an extra 2% road tax for registering the car in Chandigarh as an entry tax which I can live with since my preference is for the Black colour. But i have been informed that there is an additional environment tax of about 2% in Gurgaon which is not applicable in Chandigarh. Can someone clarify this?

3. With the launch of BE 6E I am a bit confused whether I should consider that as an option over Roxx. I understand this is not an apple to apple comparison but considering I have an XUV700 and a 3D thar already in my garage, an electric vehicle does make a strong case.
P.S. and if i really have to take a call from my heart , Roxx would be the clear choice considering this could possibly be the last Diesel vehicle for me.

Happy to hear your thoughts.
