Yes, the issue is with the brake calipers rather than the suspension components. I got them fitted in the same place where the alloys were bought from. They have fitted the same alloys multiple times in the Thar 3D and they claimed never to have faced this issue before so could be due to 5D design. Also note that the few different spacers had to be tried before they could find one that works fine.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I just got my car back from Lords of Detailing Gurgaon. This is their flagship store and it was a wonderful experience dealing with the co founders Ms Minny and Mr Binny. These guys also shot a some video for their social media account which I'll share when I get it. Meanwhile I took this photo when I picked it up.

Are these spacers safe? Looks like hub nut will not will go in as much as it is supposed to.

Yes, I am not convinced with this setup. In addition to the short bolts, the wheel inner flushes on the (cone?) hub and by adding a spacer this support will be reduced.

The right way will be to add spacers, Proman manufactures good quality

https://www.futurz4x4.in/product-pag...uMicIggqtVaNN-

However, given the stance with this size (285), I am already running wide over stocks. I would not like to extend this any further. So, maybe I will have to return to the OEM setup or find different alloys that don't foul.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Happy weekend! Its raining Roxx deliveries. Those who have taken the delivery, how does the process work? Are you shown the car either at the showroom or in the stockyard before you commence the paperwork? How did you find the condition of the car? Clean with all the plastics in place or with any damages, scratches, bird droppings, roof liner soiled, etc? How are the fabric seats from a comfort and aesthetics perspective?

Keen to hear more on the driving experience of the MX3 P AT please.

For me, it was shown directly at showroom. The car just landed the night before and so, I went to the showroom the very next day (delivery day), took a quick glance at it, paid and got it.
It’s in pristine condition, with all plastics in place except that on sidesteps (even the grab handles inside the car have plastic wrap), no damages, scratches, soiling, etc.
Seats lack thigh support, so aren’t comfy. But fabric is of decent quality with good finish.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Today on the way of dropping kids to school, car showed DPF Clogged warning and then after a few seconds started blinking REGEN Required.

This is my first Bharat-6 car so no prior experience of such issue. I will try the REGEN mode and see if it works. Have you guys experienced the same (in other cars) and how did you manage to solve?

These are just accessories added, and not modifications

I opened the tyre a while back and measured this cone on the hub. It's about 10 mm. I don't think fitting a spacer will be a good idea.

Based on the recommendation by Anshuman, I contacted ProMan in Faridabad.

https://www.instagram.com/stories/hi...5384695/?hl=en

The lowest width they can produce is 22mm. Since the alloys have marks, returning them may not be an option.

Should I go with 22 in front and 30 in the rear and create a staggered setup

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

^ Considering you are building a daily driver and probably will see highway use - avoid spacers. Get the correct alloys that has the clearance

You can see in the video that it's a modified truck.

This is business as usual, more so if the car doesn't see a highway for a long time. Try to not carry out the park regeneration. Drive it in higher rpms instead. Park Regen is the last resort where the circumstances aren't conducive for driving at higher rpm s on the trot. Below post would help you.

While we were just heading out for a test drive with the QC folk, the DPF and REGEN lamp lit up at the gate itself. In fact i've been using the Thar in city quite a lot in last few days and wanted to find out the limit I can push before DPF warning pops up. It turned out that I clocked around 230 kms in city with plentiful idling with AC on owing to peak summer. So the error was due since I didn't make any conscious effort to keep the DPF in good spirits. I was provoking the system instead

We've hit an empty 4 lane peripheral road in 2 kms and I took over the wheels. The odo was 4785 kms then. My Thar is a D AT. I shifted to tiptronic mode and started driving it in gear 2&3 and above 2.5-3k rpm. There was an intermittent beep to alert you of the ongoing warning message. 18 mins and 18 kms of Italian tune-up and fun at 3k rpm in lower cog, the warning disappeared expectedly. This is the standard procedure as most of you would know. Sharing the experience for the larger audience. Attaching the relevant MID snaps below.

On a side note - Ironically, in the name of better and cleaner emissions, I ended up burning more fuel and hence sort of swept the dust under the carpet. All is well now

Thanks. Since it was my first time, I was a little worried. Yes, I was driving within the city for about a week and most were short trips. I guess the winter also hasn't helped in this matter.

I read your post just now and I have already tried the park regeneration. Took about 15 mins and now the warning has disappeared. I believe all it does is run the engine at 2500 RPM. Next time, I will try the higher rpm run by putting the car in manual mode.

Govt is hell bent on demonising the diesel. Does it really make sense to enforce first world regulations in our country?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

For all those friends wondering about the FE of petrol variant .. today I drove in Delhi from Preet Vihar to Dwarka and returned (70 kms total) with really heavy traffic on most of the stretch, and almost standstill traffic for a stretch of 9-10 kms due to road construction around airport, AC on and off for similar time, and MID showed AFE as 11.5 for AT.

Got the car just last evening, so it was it’s maiden trip.

Real world a.k.a. tank-to-tank might be 10-10.5.

I’m expecting FE to increase by 1-1.5 going forward.

Similar numbers observed with my past vehicle (Scorpio-N petrol but MT, not AT).

Just thought of sharing in case someone finds this info. useful in deciding between petrol or diesel.

Thigh support is not upto the mark, yet didn’t feel any fatigue due to a very smooth ride otherwise.

And cabin noise insulation is amazing. Almost no vehicular noise creeped in. In fact, Couldn’t hear my wife talking to me standing just besides the door until i lowered the window

Extremely satisfied with this machine.

Cheers
