Re: Citroen Basalt Review

Congratulations on your new ride.

I had driven a family friend's Citroen Aircross C5 couple of years ago. It had one of the best suspension setups. What we did not like was its design. I know looks are subjective but, Basalt is the one vehicle from Citroen's stable which I like personally.

Re: Citroen Basalt Review

Congratulations on a very good choice. With the kind of engine-suspension combo, Basalt is a worthy successor (and upgrade) to Punto.

Spend some more years wondering why no one is buying these cars.

Re: Citroen Basalt Review

What I like the most about the Basalt is the essential tech that it has, none of the unnecessary connected-car nonsensical complications. It probably still retains the regular key based engine start, which is a relief in todays times. I have still not fully gotten over the scare of my considerably more hi-tech Verna's mysterious shutdown episode a few months ago where it eventually started after a few hours. Had I been in the market for a new sedan, this would have been a strong contender.

Re: Citroen Basalt Review

Congratulations for the Basalt. This now demands a new full blown review now considering you are representing a minority here. I think Basalt and Punto are both similar in the sense that they offer sorted ride and handling packages combinations. How are you finding the Basalt in this area compared to Punto?

Congratulation on your new car!
I assume you found the rear seat comfort of Basalt better than Aircross. Were you tempted with the 7 seat option of AirCross or was Basalt much better overall?

Re: Citroen Basalt Review

Congratulations on your new car. Happy motoring!
I moved on from a 2011 Punto MJD after 1,20,000 kms on it for 11 years to a Skoda Rapid with 1.0 Tsi AT, which had both the latest series of engines from VW and the old school build quality from the VAG group. But even today I still miss the steering feedback, the magic carpet like ride and the no- drama braking from the punto but absolutely different sorta experience with the Rapid.

Hope you are adjusting well to your Basalt from your experience in the Punto. Would like to know what facets of the car is similar to the Punto and what is different to it.
