Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

At this point we just have to stop expecting even somewhere reasonable prices from Japanese CBU's.

They just don't understand what we need here or how to drop their Japanese way of doing things.

Same story with Yamaha India pricing their R3 obnoxiously and surviving on single 155cc platform.

It's better to leave instead of hanging with undercooked products!

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

I remembered this meme when I saw this pricing

2024 Nissan X-Trail Review-030359d38002933e110400a39aba5e01.jpg

Nissan is seriously out of their minds. In our city Mangalore, this car is gonna cost around ₹62L on-road.

Who is going to buy a car worth ₹62L which doesn't get ADAS, Powered Tailgate, Leatherette and Ventilated seats, Hybrid. Heck even the XUV3XO, Sonet get these features at 25% price of the X-Trail. I'm sure, Nissan will sell the leftover stocks at ₹50L OTR after few months.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

This is disappointing from Nissan, they need to understand the car with 1.5L engine has been priced higher by almost 15L from cars with 2L or more engines and better luxury appeal to them.

Higher by 15L from Tiguan (can be 20L also based on current discounts), almost 10L from Kodiaq and Meridian, 15L again from Tucson - this requires some courage for a car which has no USP of its own. Although a different segment, still one can get an Audi Q3 for a lesser price than this.

Not sure why such decisions are taken deliberately by brands. People should be ready to get atleast 10L discounts much sooner.

It’s doubtful that even then this car will find many takers. 40L ex showroom puts it straight in the price range of the Kodiaq and Tiguan, which are comfortably superior in almost all aspects. Even the Tucson that’s priced lower is a much better product, and so is the XUV.

Nissan has left no stones unturned to disappoint us in every aspect of this launch

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

INSANE pricing, absolutely insane pricing. We had some members (me included) who thought this would be priced in the 30-40 lac price. But this is just insane I am at a complete loss of words. I don't mind if Nissan just leaves India after 2 years. I feel sad for Nissan dealers as well.

13 years ago you could get yourself a Mitsubishi Evo X for the same price. Absolutely no comparisons, but one thing that has remained constant is the illogical pricing methods that these Japanese manufacturers follow for their CBU products.

Horrible launch. Easily the worst launch that has taken place in the past 5 years. I am actually curious if we have some defending audience for this product launch on this forum, curious about their rationale towards this car.

Hello Nissan, we wanted you to surprise us with the pricing but not like this.
Stupid me was expecting it to be 30-32lac.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

As I mentioned earlier, it looks like it's time to say goodbye to Nissan in India. Rest in peace, Nissan. we'll remember you fondly for the Sunnys and Terranos.
The pricing in INSANE to say the least.

I expected it around 38L, which is already not an attractive price for what the product offers compared to the competition. This will for sure help Skoda to sell the remaining Kodiaqs. For this money, I would happily buy a Kodiaq for long drives and an MG ZS EV for city commute. It'd be a great success if the dealers manage to sell the demo vehicles at least.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

What is with the obsession of most OEM with three-cylinder turbo petrol engines? That too with mild hybrid. Design elements remind one of the Nissan Kicks that was being offered at heavy discounts towards the tail end. How is the pricing justified?

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

I would love to be friends with someone who has money and brains to buy this car. That would mean he/she can use the same brain to give money to me without any reason!

I admire the guts of Nissan to be honest!

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

Hi, I thought this price is at buy one get one free offer, but it seems price is for one X-Trail. However, even if it is priced close to 30 lacs, hardly couple of units would have been sold.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

I was reading an article on how Cambridge dictionary is including new Gen Z words in the list.

I happen to read a new word today - D.O.A.

Nissan helped me understand the meaning of the above abbreviation~dead on arrival.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

It will soon be retailing with a 10 lakh discount, if not then they will have a hard time even selling that first batch of 150 cars which was imported. Disastrous Pricing and I was hoping that it might be launched for around 35 lakhs.

This will do more harm, than brand building for them.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

Hmm. Seems like they DONT want to sell this car. Just using this as a halo product / PR exercise.

The engine capacity (1.5L) getting bashed up seems a little unjust as the BMW X1 petrol also has a 1.5 litre turbo 3 cylinder and even that starts at 49.5L ex-showroom. But a mainstream brand like Nissan wont have the same perceived value as one of the Germans.

They need to get the Ariya at a better price now, else its gonna be tough.

Re: 2024 Nissan X-Trail Review

It's disappointing to see Nissan making such brain-dead decisions in the Indian market. They have some great VFM offerings in the more mainstream markets. The Kicks is extremely popular as a small SUV in the American market, and rightly so, it's a great product. So are their sedans like the Altima and Sentra, which are known for comfort and efficiency, at a competitive price point.

They have the products to re-establish themselves in the Indian market, if they wish to. As things stand, I would be surprised to see more than a handful of X-Trails on the roads.
